Totally agree that the Phoenix belongs to the whole of NZ. The
sooner that we can get some real traction, with the gate
attendance, the sooner that the message will get across to the
administrators of the A-league across the Tasman, and the sooner
that FOOTBALL becomes the national winter code by default.

For someone who cannot pronounce our National striker's name
correctly, [by the way it is Chris Killen, and NOT Killeen] I
am amazed that the sports media seem to continue in seeking this
and other "old warrior's" input [yet again] - no wonder Football
has suffered under such misrepresentation, in particular through
the inept, and unbiased!! sporting media.
It is time for Mr Malcolmson and other ex-All Whites to move
over and give new blood to the meaning of positive comment - what
about Jason Pine.
After all, this is what the Phoenix are all about, a
renaissance of the beautiful game. After two failed attempts by a
City that seems to have so many hidden agendas, with previous
disasters, the only thing that I can agree to is that Auckland
should never be allowed to ruin the game, and its REAL support ever
again.
When the Phoenix, with its true football supporters, [and not
flaky 'Johhny come lately' followers, or should that be sheep],
succed in the next two years, Christchurch or
Hamilton should be allowed to enter the second & third
[respectively] franchises. Given the overall youth representation
of Football in NZ, this will happen.
Move over rugby, Football has arrived, and with a vengeance -
go those PHOENIX , [and not "NIX" ] boys.
Rome wasn't built in a day, it will take Ricki and his team
sometime yet - patience is required, and not a pathetic & sour
grapes over the top reaction to the first loss of the season,
in particular from has beens.
Had to laugh at Sams attempt to pronounce Ole Gunnar Solskjaers
name during the coverage of the Chatham cup final on sunday.
I don't think that they will expand the A-league for a while yet,
and when they do they will probably expand it to incorporate more
Aussie teams before we get anymore, however, I would welcome
Christchurch getting a team.
every fan is good for the club no matter when they came on board
,the phoenix is not a closed shop it is for every football minded
person in wellington we dont want to scare people away

Once the fans get themselves better organised with e.g.
synchronised chanting, it will be only a matter of time,
that the home of Football will move to Wellington. Makes sense,
with the Rugby Union Headquarters being a stone's throw away from
the beautiful Wellington Stadium.
Within two years, we could see a regular gate of +20K.
Maybe the name should change to The Phoenix, rather than the
Wellington Phoenix. Certainly NOT the 'nix'.
Another suggestion could be in the naming of the supporters
main area behind the Southern goal, A starter could be "The Box",
being short for the "Fire Box", which is contained within the
ring of fire!!

All of NZ welcome to get behind the Phoenix - hope they
do
But, Wellington gives it identity and gets Wellington behind
it first and foremost. That is most important bc those are the
people who stick their bum on a seat
And if it wasn't the WELLINGTON phoenix then people from
Christchurch, Auckland, and (for the sake of argument) Foxton would
have a leg to stand on in saying they want a game to be played in
their area.
