Football Fern signs for Spanish Club
Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but I thought it was worth a mention. Abby Erceg has signed to play for Espanyol in Spain. Hope it goes well for her.

Great for her. Barcelona is a fantastic city, sure she'll have an amazing experience there.
Wait a moment, I heard that she came back from Espanyol after four days. Not sure of the reason why. She was excited before leaving but it maybe a different story after four days. Espanyol is suppose to be one of the top women clubs in the world.
So is she back here then?

NEW ZEALAND defender Abby Erceg's professional deal with Espanyol was short-lived with the 19-year-old returning home after just four days.
She had signed to play professionally with the Spanish giants for one year but decided it wasn't right for her.

Ah well, at least she'll have got a nice stamp in her passport
She probably got held at gun point by the mafia and forced to leave
4 days? Yoou think youd give it a couple of weeks.
Meh. Barcelona isn't that nice after all... Should have crossed over to Madrid.
guy in my hostel room got mugged in barca in 2000
He probably spent all his money on hookers in that little side street off La Rambla and then came up with the 'mugging' story.
Hookers in Barcelona?? No, don't be ridiculous! Meh. Everybody hates Madrid, anyway. Filled with fascists and right wing sympathisers.
Is Abbey still in Europe or is she back home now?
Abby never kicked a ball in anger in Spain, Disco Mart - she got herself on the first plane home, and, Football Ferns internationals apart, has been here ever since.
She plays for Fencibles United in the Northern Premier Women's League.
Cheers,
JR
