Fiji, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Samoa are all
ranked higher than NZ!!!!
ouch - hopefully that will change in the next couple of months
It can only change. We will be playing against teams ranked higher
than us so good results will mean more for ranking points. As
oppose to before where we would be playing games against lowly
ranked teams. Forever the optimist I am!
all I have to say is 4-2 and lets never let that happen again

Which illustrates the point that you need to play games to get
points (they will have collected points from the qualifiers they
just played) - which is never going to be great for the All Whites
- bc we play very few friendlies, let alone FIFA qualifying
matches.
Kinda ridiculous that we got a bye through the initial Oceania
qualifying round based on our higer ranking - yet by the
time we actually enter the qualifying process we are the
lowest ranked team
Those rankings won't count for much when we smash Samoa 10-0.
