I can confirm that Peter is staying at Roslyn, he confirmed this on monday night when he was there coaching the kids.
This lad is the best keeper in town despite his age and it is no wonder that other clubs want him!!!

2012 SPL standings

1) Mosgiel
2) Dunedin Technical
3) Roslyn
4) University
5) Caversham
6) Northern
7) Green Island
8) Grants Braes

would love to see the mighty Technical win it again but i dont't see it happening? Mosgiel will be a force this time round and Cavershambles is all over the show. Roslyn to struggle in those easy win games again and Varsity to surprise us all.

thoughts?

Not totally. There is still the white ribbon cup and with Canty and TW focussed on the top four spots it may give us a chance. And if we manage to make the final it would likely be against Waikato, so it's not so far fetched to suggest they could win a trophy!

As a long time Roslyn fan (ex chief of police days) I beg to differ:

1) Roslyn (Rosyln's turn after too much Cavvy dominance)
2) Dunedin Technical (Myers, Prattly might be a problem - kick them)
3) Caversham (tricky Ricky with some late summer signings will do well)
4) Mosgiel (get real guys - sign Messi and it still won't help the randomness)
5) Green Island (cummon Malc!)
6) University (too much booze again)
7) Northern (yawn)
8) Grants Braes (sigh)

We're definately a chance in the cup.

And that aside, there's always something to play for

Always hard to make any predictions till after the drunk students return after O-week..

Green Island will struggle again but Malc will try & get them playing decent football, the loss of striker Donnie to Roslyn will be a blow. 8th

On their day, esp at home, the Braes can surprise, like Tech found out last season, i'll place them at 7th but don't be surprised if they can finish above Northern.

Northern, you really have to wonder about this club, you get the feeling they are more than happy making up the numbers. With basically the entire student population on their doorstep & a clubroom with mood lighting no other club can match, they continually disappoint & should be achieving more, maybe it's cause they use the same kit that was trendy back in 1993? 6th

Varsity will be hit & miss again, having said that, they played some good footy last year but lost to the likes of Northern & Queenstown, if they had won those games they would've got 4th, i'll go for 5th.

Another tough season looms for the once mighty Cavvy, the last two seasons have seen a huge exodus of quality players. The club still has some decent performers like Hancock, Ryder, Rodeka & hopefully the outstanding Horner is back, lacking in depth could be their biggest problem though. I've got them at 4th but lets wait to see who they pick up before the start of the season.

Roslyn depending on any new signings is hard to predict, the loss of their two best players (M Cunningham & Connor) will make life pretty tough, top 3 at least. of any Club, Ellis Park has the best bar in town - fact!

Techincal will be strong again but can't see them winning it, no new signings & the the loss of Coburn & Scoullar will be felt hugely & the older players like Burgess, Smith & J Flaws are another year older, i'll go for second just pipping Roslyn, another cup run maybe?

After quite a few years of solid top four placings & an emphasis on local players & not worrying about the chat-cup Mosgiel i think will win it. In Morgan Day & Regan Coldicott, Mosgiel have two match winners & i can see them going the whole season unbeaten. The also have the best kit

So with your lot down to 8 teams, that will fit nicely with the Mainland Premier League yes? Good chance at the end of the year for a few games.

I thought Mainland teams were sick of getting thumped by SPL teams?
Would be great though, I'd love to see semis and a final all over 2 legs.

Canterbury likely to give several of their bench warmers a game tomorrow. I can see Tom Batty in goal for Adam Highfield.

Why was Clapham able to play and Prattley couldn't?
Aren't they both in the squad to play Saudi Arabi?

Bah sad we couldn't snatch a draw..now all we have to do is beat TW 2-0 to be equal on points and GD with them...dunno what would happen then!

Would assume that Clapham and the other three over age players that will be playing on Friday evening are not part of the squad that will be playing in the Oceanic Qualifying with Clapham,  Peverley, Mulligan and Vicelich joining the team tomorrow for the trip across the ditch.

Clapham only played in the first half with Peverley coming off the bench after the break.

You would think Otago would top the group has they defeated TW.

thegaffa, do you reckon Richard Murray has done a decent job this season or would you still like to see McGarry take over?

Ive enjoyed the couple of games Ive seen, probably some of the best football Utd have played since the comp was formed.

As close to homegrown as you can get, lack of depth which is understandable, living within the means and no Bo..
