I've rallied a few mates together for the Sydney FC game on the 25th Feb, but would like to train up from Sydney to Gosford for the Mariners game on the 18th as well.

Anyone else looking to make it to the Central Coast game as well?

Otherwise I have a group organised for the Sydney FC game on the 25th and will be in the away supporters zone. Happy for more to join us. Meeting where prior, I'm unsure of, as the Local Taphouse on Flinders looks like a drinking hole for the locals.

Unfortunately can't make the CCM match but definitely keen to meet up for the Sydney match. Even more keen if pre-match warmup is at the Local Taphouse. Sure it might be full of locals, but it has great beer so is too hard to resist.

Hopefully can drag one or two others along as well.

Saw this on another thread that seemed to good to miss

[quote]If anyone is in Sydney, I run a pub, the Haymarket hotel, in the CBS and free beers for the Phoenix supporters... Just let me know when ur around...

I agree that the Local has great beer but drinking with likeminded fellows and avoiding the bling for pre-match warmups, all the while beer being free or cheap sounds far better.

But keen to meet other Nix supporters going to the game so give me a yell on 0415488185 if you're keen to join me and the mates. Happy to host pre-drinks at mine in Pyrmont if the Haymarket Hotel plan falls through too.

We will be driving up sat and staying the night for ccm game. U want a lift from Sydney? Beers at leagues club across the road before and after.

As for the Syd game, I have a bunch of mates coming also so we should have a good showing like last year. Captain cook is the best place for pre beers pop stadium in Sydney

It looks like only a handful of us are heading up for the CCM game now. Thanks for the offer of ride but I think we'll catch the train there and back. Be sure to see you at the Leagues Club before and after too.

Captain Cook it is then. I'll be sure to pass on the word to the mates.

Awesome. I'll mention this to the mates as well. More spending money for beers it sounds like.cainv2012-02-15 03:10:56

Re tomorrow's game if you're coming back to Sydney after the game & fancy watching the other games on tele you're welcome to come into the Royal Exhibition Hotel (Surrey Hills side of Central Station, 86 Chalmers Street/Devonshire st) as they are a football sympathetic pub & plenty of screens.
FA Cup Chelsea v Birmingham @ 23:25 & possibly League Championship, Notts Forest v Coventry after the Perth game.
Big night.

Not sure if this is of any use whatsoever, but here's the link of how to get to SFS if you're unfamiliar with the transport system - http://www.131500.com.au/events/a-league-sydney-fc-v-wellington-phoenix-2

By the way, two tickets for $10 is incredible. Thanks for the info.

Yeah it was good to join fellow supporters. I was impressed with the chants, but was epically hungover from the night before so was no real use to the supporters.
But can't think of a better excuse to make the trip up to bogan-ville Gosford. Real shame about the result, there were some decent strikes from the Nix too. Could certainly see the difference without Durante and Brown. Hopefully with them back, the game against the Bling this Saturday will be a better result.

If you're on a crawl the last port of call should be the Local Taphouse (personally it should be the first & last) but aren't you guys all meeting at The Haymarket earlier in the day anyway?

Haven't really had any confirmed plans from other members on this thread so I'm basically making a call with my mates to meet at the taphouse. But I might swing by the Haymarket Hotel on the way to the taphouse to see how things are unfolding.

Historically speaking, for your crawls that started at the taphouse and finished there, which bars did you visit in the middle?

Lol sorry, what I meant is that The Tap House is my first & last ports of call.
I love it there pre-game. I sometimes miss KO trying to squeeze one last one in. It's no more than ten mins quick walk though.

Seriously though, win or lose you should all join us post match at the REH (Royal Exhibition Hotel) for sherbets for the remaining HAL & EPL on ALL screens. It's good value atmosphere for watching football.

Unless you're Rangers...they got banned.

Great turnout from Phoenix fans in the away end yesterday. Particularly happy for all those that travelled and suffered through the CCM match last week. I'm sure you're feeling much better about things today. Hopefully there'll be another chance for a trip up the Coast in a few weeks.

Huge thanks to the folks at at Haymarket Hotel for putting on the pre-match beer & food - exceptionally generous and you've set a dangerous precident!

On another note, it'd be great to catch up more regularly with likeminded supporters. Is there a particular pub in Sydney that Phoenix fans get together to watch televised games? Or is the Exhibition the best bet?

The REH is probably the most "Civilised" bet.

Excellent outcome.

REH sounds like it could become a regular spot. Does anyone know if they are playing NZ vs. Jamaica on Wednesday, 5:30 pm?

Also, if anyone's a fan of EA Sports FIFA via Xbox live, feel free to send me a game invite. Username is as above.

Unfortunately the Royal Exhibition looks to be a no-go for the All Whites game as it's not being televised on Fox Sports.

I did mention the live stream option and received the reply: "Unfortunately we're not set up to do this at the moment but it's something we'd definitely think about in the future." Fair enough. Also, I haven''t read the T&C's but there could well be an issue about streaming the game in public - who knows.

Anyway, if anyone knows anywhere else that might be prepared to invest in the future, by tomorrow, i.e. plugging a laptop into a TV, I'd be keen to watch the game.

Otherwise, will definitely head to REH on 2:30pm Sunday for the Phoenix v GC.
