Accomodation is not exactly cheap in Perth. But try wotif sales, flight centre deals and watch out. March is not really peak tourist season, just arrive in the city on a Friday. Because of the mining boom Tuesday-thursday accomodation prices are ridiculously expensive. Head to margaret river or a country area during the week and you'll save cash...otherwise shack up with one of the plethora of kiwis that now live in Perth.
