Well, as always - here's the Trip Report!
Nothing to add about the game (and I'm glad you saw more of it than I did from that corner!), other than my disgust that not 1 player came over to the travelling fans after the game. I only saw 2 at least provide a bit of appreciation from halfway, and they were Paul Ifill and Benjamin Totori..... Very poor form....
The ground was stunning, as was the weather, but the locals were a bit strange and generally unfriendly! If you want to go boating and fishing and have peace then fine, but for a boys' football and boozing trip - don't stay in Gosford, 2 nights was far too long! :-) Had a MUCH better night in Newcastle on the Friday night and Sydney at the weekend! Glad the new flag looked good on the box, it will be making it's debut at home against the pissants next week. Also I'd like to give a bit shout to the Jets and Roar fans who joined us in the away end - good work fellas! And it was great to catch up with the usual and new NSW crew!
RBB in Campbelltown was an amazing sight, shame the ground didn't provide the atmosphere of Home or somewhere like the SFS. And as usual Timmy was trying his best to get the Jets fans fired up. Looks like there's a few Wanderers boys that were after a bit of a ruck after the game as well....
Thanks to Jess and the usual travelling Sydney fans for looking after me on Saturday - an excellent night! Didn't get any hassle wearing my Nix cap in the back of the Cove either. Even took $50 off their bookie who was silly enough to pay $5.50 for del Piero to score first! :-)
So at least that's Gosford crossed off my list - won't go back there unless it was a play-off or other VERY important game. And if I did, I'd stay in Newcastle!
