Interview a complete exercise in public w**king by this Morrison dork.
"Oh, look how clever I am - I'm far too clever to interview a common footballer"
The interview is more about the interviewer than the subject!
I'd clam up myself if interviewed by someone like that.
You have to have a basic level of respect to conduct a good interview and draw good answers out of people.
It's only valid to be critical of people if they have offensive opinions e.g. racist, are corrupt or mis-use power.
Otherwise it's just offensive to lampoon someone for not being perceived as articulate etc.
Winston deserves more respect as I think he must have some kind of mana and personal integrity, on top of his obvious playing ability, to be voted both "Hammer of the Year" by fans and "Players' Player of the Year" last season.
Back to what we admire Winston for, his prowess on the pitch - watched the whole game and thought Winston was outstanding - with Winston and Collins, the two centrebacks as last line of defence, no one got more headers or tackles in than Winston.
The whole team played very well, surprisngly well for the first game of the season when teams are usually far from their top form.
Downing showed he'll be a real force in his 20 minutes, Diame and Cole were very sharp too.
And they still have Andy Carroll coming back in a few weeks and Carlton Cole possibly re-signing.
Some attractive football along the deck - no proliferation of long balls at all.
Things are looking good for a top season from the Hammers...
