Nice.
Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest | England)
The way his head snapped back I'm surprised he didn't get hurt.
Was that the opposition fans he was celebrating in front of? That would have gone down like a cup of cold sick
Just moved to Watford very near the stadium. Popped out for a curry last night and heard Chris' name get mentioned quite a bit. Watford fans are dark about that result!!!

do watford fans chant in spanish yet?
Nope.Italian (so the team can understand)
Chris Wood to miss Leicester's game v Forest because "Leicester can't afford a private jet" for him to fly to L.A.:
"City were hoping that the NZF would allow Wood to travel after the clash with Forest at the King Power Stadium, but the All Whites will not compromise.
City boss Nigel Pearson said it was disappointing for Wood and City, but stressed he understood New Zealand's tough stance.
"Unless New Zealand's Federation alters its stance, I think it is probable that we won't have him available," said Pearson.
"It was possible only if the chartered flight was available and we are not in a position to do that.
"The scheduled flights don't allow us to get him there in the time-frame.
"It is unfortunate because he has just forced his way back into the side and scored a goal. The player is really disappointed."
Chris Wood is now ready to face Mexico
Leicester missing big Woodsie's face as they draw a blank and lose 2-0

Came on in the 61st minute in a 3-nil win over Milwall
"For City though, the fourth goal was certainly on. Konchesky scuffed an effort wide, Knockaert shot over and Wood saw his effort blocked before having another saved on the turn with just five minutes left.

Top of the table.
wood is on for nugent, down 2-1 at wednesday....a goal here and he is back in the running for a start....10 mins to go
Bit of a shock - went down to cellar-dweller Owls 2-1 away.
Wood on for Nugent after 67 mins & got some shots away

"Frenchman Anthony Knockaert had given City a stunning third-minute lead when he cut in off the right hand side to fire into the roof of the net, but the Owls soon responded.
Connor Wickham, on-loan from Premier League Sunderland, fired in a powerful curling effort from the left side of the box just seven minutes later to level, before a similar stunning effort from further out on the 25 minute mark gave the home side a lead they would never surrender.
It wasn’t for want of trying though, as David Nugent, Paul Konchesky and Chris Wood all tested Damian Martinez to no avail in the second half, but the silver lining was that results elsewhere meant City stayed above Queens Park Rangers at the summit, albeit on goals scored....
...Wood twisted and turned in the box, but couldn’t get a shot away on his right, meaning the Owls countered – only a last gasp block from Miquel denying Wickham a hat-trick..."

Hamstring I think
Reports in early December that he'd be out for at least a month.
guttered for him hope he gets back to full strength and scoring soon
guttered for him hope he gets back to full strength and scoring soon
He's struggled to keep a spot in the starting this whole season (which has been hampered with injuries) and they've done very well without him. And if they end up being promoted as seems likely, they'll probably look to strengthen up front, so he could really find himself on the margins.
True, He could end up in the exact same position as he was at west brom and being loaned back to weak championship clubs.
Chris out until at least mid-January (could be back in next two weeks):
December 13, 2013
Leicester City may look to bring in striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake after Chris Wood picked up a hamstring injury which will keep him out of action for at least a month.
Wood injured his hamstring in the latter stages of last week’s defeat at Brighton and manager Nigel Pearson admitted they may decide to bring in a replacement for the hectic Christmas period.
City have been linked with Ebanks-Blake, who is a free agent after leaving Wolves in the summer, although he has continued to train with the League One side as he regains his fitness after injury.
Pearson wouldn’t be drawn on Ebanks-Blake specifically, but said if there was a player available who could strengthen his squad he would look at it.
“Chris has picked up a hamstring problem and he is looking at a minimum of four weeks out,” he said.
“It is a disappointment for us and for him but we have to deal with it.
“Maybe, we will bring someone in, yes. We will see..."

Leicester expect Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Danny Drinkwater, Ignasi Miquel and Matty James to be fit and available.
Striker Chris Wood is back in training after a month-long absence and is possibly in contention.

4-1 leicester still no wood, be a good game to get 15 or so minutes coming back into the team.
wood now on about 80th minute
C'mon Woodzee
Misses a sitter
He should have scored
or at least tested the keeper
Lovely touch there
At least he got ten minutes after a month out with injury ,which is all he could expect I guess.
It's possible other players get injured and he'll have more chance of starting...
Really good win against a Derby side that's been much improved the last few months since Steve McLaren took over (something like two losses in 14 games) and the form team in the Championship.
Kevin Phillips (age 40!) signs for Foxes - pushing Wood further down pecking order.
If you are signing a 40yo, that hardly sends a good message to the existing guys...
It's Kevin Phillips though...
Does rather look like Wood wouldn't be getting much time even if he stays with the Foxes and they make the Premier League...
