Just read a book called the Damned United by David Peace. It
is a novel written supposedly from inside the mind of Brian Clough
in his 44 days as manager of Leeds.
It is a cracking book. It usually takes me longer to read a
book than it takes a S*nderland centre back to do his shoelaces
before he realises they are slipons but this is fantastic stuff.
Couldnt put it down (must stop playing with superglue before I read
a book!)
In the words of the great (ahem) Murray Deaker..... I highly
recommend it

Heard its good, 'The Damned UTD' is the title isn't it. Any other
recommendations?
Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby, i know its about a Arsenal supporter
but it could be about any club, and its a damn good read.
Fever Pitch is a great book, however the movie was pretty
disappointing.
I've read fever pitch it was good, recently (well not so) read
Fowler's autobiography, really poorly written, so much repetition
of points, but good anecdotal stories.

I remember going to see Nick Hornby doing
a reading of fever pitch at the old Bar Bodega the place was
packed, good bloke answered questions afterwards as well

I picked it up for three bucks back in Tauranga at the Warehouse, and it's paid off so much. This was long before I learnt that I'm part Italian (an Aunt I never got to know told me back in Feb) and before I was infected with football fever (back then I was a competitive cyclist). I recently re-read it with that context and loved it even more than the first time.
I'm currently reading "New Zealand's World Cup - The Inside Story" by John Adshead and Kevin Fallon...when I'm not busy reading my biology notes, grr stupid exams...

Started reading 'the Damned UTD' so far quite interesting, jumping
back and forth using Italics was odd at first.
The Damned United is indeed a fine piece of work. Now a whole
new generation can understand why Leeds United were and are so
reviled, and can hate them too!! A MUST read if you love
