Well this one certainly went down to the wire. Any predictions for the final round in this group?

Portugal as good as gone with that -4 goal difference.

I was thinking that too. If USA lose by 2 (and that's not far fetched) and Portugal win by 3 (and that's not far fetched), that makes it interesting

I must admit I would be quite delighted to see that snivelling little shit that is Ronaldo go home early. Good footballer but such an insufferable prick.

yeah I'm hopeful for a cracking game with Ghana needing a win and Portugal needing a big win, to have any chance. I will be at the game.

Portugal winning by 3 is never going to happen against the mighty Ghana.

Germany and USA both only need a draw but despite that I can't see Germany easing up given that they've already dropped points against Ghana. They'll want a strong performance heading in to the knockout round so I'm picking Germany and Ghana to win and both go through.

I'm surprised to still see, what seems, such extreme views on Ronaldo. A rags to riches story, great success on the field on the back of a great work ethic off it, very committed to his profession, doesn't drink and donates millions and his time to various charities. He hasn't bitten anyone, head-butted anyone or racially abused anyone. I can't recall him saying a bad word about current/former team mates or managers.

Surely, there are far more apt villains in football?

I know what you are saying. Maybe its his arrogance/smugness I don't like (which I guess is kinda ironic)

Both Germany and USA had a tough time against Ghana. I am not expecting Portugal to win, or at least not easily.

Ghana to win (and goes through if Germany wins) or a draw, and USA goes through regardless (I think).

If he was a bit more ugly and used less hair product less people would hate him. I read an article about a young couple who's baby needed surgery for some brain disorder but couldn't afford it. They wrote to Ronaldo and asked for a signed pair of boots for an auction to help raise 60,000 euros for the surgery. So he sent them the boots, and a shirt, and a cheque for 60,000 euros.

I'm not saying 'I don't like Ronaldo the person'. I'm saying I don't like 'Ronaldo the footballer I see on TV'. I'm sure if I passed him in the street, I'd stop and ask for his autograph and picture along with a life long man crush after the fact. I just think he does not come over well for 90mins when he is on the pitch

Meanwhile, Messi refuses to shake a little kid's hand yet everyone loves him... :P

My mother (96) thinks he's fab. But she thought the same of Brockie.
