I thought in futsal you need the technical ability to beat a player?

How does he even get selected? Has he played in the local leagues and was selected after trials - I suspect not! Just a publicity stunt to get people along there. What next Rory Fallon upfront as the target man!

Can't defend either.

Bert was on the court tonight not only scoring for the Aussies and getting out of the way of a goal bound shot but being on the court for all of the Aussies 6 goals.

He did not even got selected for the third game. Was he injured? Was he simply not selected? Was he not good enough? Scott Gilligan (Futsal Whites coach ) was not pleased at all with his team's performance and told the players at half-time with a 3 minute rant and then walked out! His words not mine in interview at end of  the final game.

Will he make the NZ Futsal team for the OFC camp in the first two weeks in August.

Maybe not then how about the 4 Nations Futsal Cup to be held in Wellington 9 to 12th of October?

NZF being very hush hush about these at the moment.

Who in the Futsal team is marketable to the local wider football community in Wgtn (other than Leo)

Need crowds because the average football player will object to subsidies being given Futsal if they can't pay the bills.

No problems with Leo being used in this way.

Futsal paying their way thats a joke. Why do you think it was in Wellington along with the junior tourament, because the parents of the young kids could be used to fund the cost of a weeks stadium hire for NZ team training camp and 3 games.

Do you call 430 people most non paying a futsal funding crowd? Most of that number there to watch their kids get the youth prize giving after the Sunday game.

The best viewing on Sunday was the kids under 12s [Auckland v Mainland] game at half time in the NZ v Aussie game.

So it was free to get in and sponsors (pokie money) covered costs?

Nothing against futsal really. But have seen some of the accounting practices locally to try and hide costs associate with non core activities.

Was Futsal not an independent business not that long ago.
