From the little that I have seen of him I was impressed.  He plays wide on the right wing I think, and he backs himself to take on defenders.  He's good at getting the crosses in too.  I figured he'll be going somewhere, good to see there's interest out there in him.

Left or Right, can play up front if need be, young and worth a punt I would have thought ccfc.  One of a couple of players that were very unlucky to miss the U-20 side.

He didn't miss out, but rather pulled out to find a contract in Europe after Ricki showed no interest.

Read it in th Herald a while back... or maybe in here.

I liked him as a player, one of the few kiwi's who actually seemed capable of taking on and beating a player.

Would have been a nice midfield three with him, Keat and James.

He'd already been told he wouldn't make the final side...  he was dropped from the final squad for the qualifiers.

Sorry Michael, but I dont rate you. Gets the ball wide, puts his head down, dribbles, gets tackled.  Repeat process every time he gets the ball. Very physically weak, will fall over and dive at any given chance. Very selfish player.

MAY develop given right guidance, big may.

Good luck Mike

You'd have to ask Stu Jacobs.

Twelve months ago an NZ side with George and Michael White beat Australia in a series.  That Aus side included 6 players who have since played in the A-League, and a couple more likely to this coming season.  Since then there have been a stack of changes and we ended up with the WC display.

Not sure what happened to Kayne Vincent either, whether his new club in Japan put pressure on him or if he was just dropped.

I was actually going to make a thread a few days ago asking what happened to White. I rate him highly. On the times I saw him play for the Knights he would always add a spark to the game.

Good luck to him.

I didn't see the last match the Under 20's played but after watching the first watching the first 2 games I think Michael White would have definitely made a difference playing on either wing, possibly even up front late in the match. Maybe a personality clash somewhere...

good to hear - can be picked up by a championship team - but not make our under 20's?

must have been a personality clash, rodhouse is crap in comparison.

The question is why he wasn't involved in the U-20's.

Not sure he has proved he is worth a full cap yet.

bit harsh lads! give the kid a chance.

they don't hand contracts out lightly. i would say if he gets one, especially after only a couple of month's exposure, i think he would have proved a hell of a lot actually

also the all whites are hardly brimming with profesional players.  i say anyone operating in the top 3 english leagues has to be guaranteed a place

personally, i know little about him, but i hope he succeeds simply because we need more pro players

Ashville 1-2 Rhyl
The Lilywhites earned another win tonight in the build up to the UEFA Cup 1st qualifying round, 2nd leg against Haka.
Rhyl deservedly took the lead on 37 minutes when Michael White scored with a superb scissor-kick.
The hosts forced an equaliser early in the second half even though the goal scorer looked to be in an offside position.
The winning goal came in the 80th minute through Desormeaux after exchanging passes with Lee Hunt.
Rhyl: Whitfield, Holt, Roberts, Horan, Ruffer, White (Graves 75'), Kelly (Desormeaux 45'), Garside (Connolly 75'), Cameron (Hunt 73'), Moran (Coffin 70'), Graziolo (Jones 61')

Looks like he is back playing with Rhylfc. They are in the UEFA cup early rounds representing the Welsh Premier League. He didn't play in the last Uefa game. But Ryhlfc beat FC HAKA 3-1.

Maybe he has decided to sign with them as the other opportunities didn't came through. eg Cardiff.

He is still scoring goals for Ryhl in the pre-season of the Welsh Premier team. Not yet signed with anyone though. He seems to be playing well. Is he really this good?

"NEITHER HAVE SIGNED" - HULSE
John Hulse has confirmed to rhylfc.co.uk that neither Michael White or Gianluca Grazioli have signed for the club.
White, who is from Deganwy and has recently returned from New Zealand, has attracted interest from league clubs which is a factor in the non-signature just yet.
He also finds himself in a catch-22 situation as regulations state that a footballer can not play for more than three clubs in a year - White has already played for two clubs (one in Australia and one in New Zealand) so whichever club he does sign for is the club he will have to stay with for at least a season.
Both players featured in today's friendly against Ashton. Grazioli, who has played in the Italian Serie C, had a relatively quiet game while White scored a 30-yard screamer.

RHYL 2-0 ASHTON ATHLETIC
Goals from Phil Coffin and a long range screamer from Michael White gave Rhyl an easy victory.
More to follow.

Michael White made his debut for Rhyl in the league the other day. Subbed on in the 89th minute. Since then he has played a full 90 minutes. It took him a while to break in. He was doing pretty well in the pre-season.

COMFORTABLE WIN FOR RHYL
NEWI CEFN DRUIDS 1 (LEWIS 89)
RHYL 4 (CONNOLLY 33,O'NEILL 65,MORAN 67,SHARP 90)

DESPITE being without a number of key players Rhyl produced one of their best performances of the season at Plaskynaston Lane tonight.
Jimmy Kelly (knee problem), Carl Ruffer (illness) and Craig Jones (injured in warm-up) were all missing for the Lilywhites, but John Hulse's men were in a different class to a Druids outfit fielding ex-Rhyl heroes Timmy Edwards, Mark Powell and Chris McGinn.
It was McGinn who had the first clear chance on 23 minutes when he beat the Lilies offside trap and raced in on goal, but drove wide with his left foot.
In the 26th minute Druids keeper Carl Edwards produced a great double save, pushing a Chris Roberts shot on to the post and then smothering Andy Moran's follow-up.
The deadlock was broken on 31 minutes when Stuart Graves was fouled on the left and Mark Connolly's rocket free-kick from 30 yards flew into the net.
Lee Kendall had to be alert in the 39th minute to tip a deep Paul Mazzarella cross over the bar, but come the interval the visitors deservedly led 1-0.
McGinn went close to a leveller on the hour when he latched on to a wayward George Horan header but narrowly missed the target from 20 yards.
Rhyl then upped the ante and went 2-0 up on 65 minutes when Paul O'Neill volleyed home a Connolly free-kick from close range.
Two minutes later the Druids defence were in disarray on the edge of the box after Lee Hunt got a crucial touch to a Roberts delivery and Moran was left with the simplest of tasks to fire into an empty net.
Craig Garside nearly made it four when his back header from a Graves cross was cleared off the line by Aled Rowlands.
Druids nabbed a consolation in the 90th minute when a Waynne Phillips free-kick was converted at the back post by an unmarked Geraint Lewis.
But Rhyl fittingly had the last word when 86th minute substitute Chris Sharp latched on to a dreadful back pass and cheekily dummied keeper Edwards before stroking into a gaping goal.
Gifted New Zealander Michael White also made his Rhyl debut as an 89th minute replacement for Horan, but had no time to make any impact.

RHYL: Kendall, O'Neill, Roberts, Connolly, Horan (White 89), Holt, Wilson, Garside, Hunt (Cameron 85), Moran (Sharp 86), Graves

Well if you want to know whats really going on, he has signed a non-pro contract at Rhyl in Wales and has played about 12 comp games ans and got 2 by memory (cant remember exactly). He is leaving that club very soon and is going to try and find a state team in Brisbane sometime soon where his girlfriend is. He broke his nose quite badly, and although he can still play, he is going to have an op in Brisbane.
As to the rumours of Cardiff and so on after him, he actually came out and said that himself to the club where he has signed now.  He has a friend who sent his cv to the pro clubs in Wales, thats all.
