25 mins off the bench as BM II beat Marinovic’s old side Unterhaching (2nd) in Liga 3.

Same score when Singh came on.

BM II up to 6th, and now 9 points clear of the drop zone.

First team had Chelsea midweek, Bundesliga game tomorrow (Hoffenheim) and then a German Cup quarterfinal midweek (Schalke).

So maybe Singh was given limited mins today for BM II, to keep him fresh in case of any first team injuries over next few games.

Bayern demolish Hoffenheim away 6-0.

Coutinho with a brace. Zirkzee started and got a goal.

2 changes (Coman & Lewandowski injured) made to starting lineup from Chelsea UCL game. Perišić also on the sick list.

Hard to see Singh getting close to any first team action, without further injuries, or perhaps they will rotate the younger players like him through the bench. I'm sure Bayern have a well thought out plan.

Is a German Cup quarterfinal midweek at Schalke.

Could maybe understand the comments if he had been there for a couple years but come on.

That's not tall poppy syndrome, IMO. Tall poppy syndrome would be having a go at Singh if he won the ballon d'or. Singh has lots of potential but he obviously has a lot to work on to maximise that.

If anything, we raise concerns because we want them to succeed and with Singhs ceiling I personally have high expectations.

Anyway Singh's benching on the youth team could be a bit of pressure on him to perform, unless is for injury or rest. He started with a bang but has looked casual in the last few outings. As a first team prospect he cant be losing possession cheaply against 3rd tier opponents. I'm hoping he gets a chance against Schalke and lights it up or at least has a strong game for the youth.

Man this is really strange. He's clearly the best player in the second team and has been all season, yet was beaten to the bench by two other second team players in similar positions, and this has happened quite a bit over the past few weeks. Would love to know the reasoning

Who knows for sure.

What is certain is that Bayern are travelling very nicely now, post Kovač

Beat Schalke 1-0 away to make the German Cup semis.

Looking good to make QFs in UCL, after hammering Chelsea 3-0 away in 1st leg, round of 16 last week.

And are 3 points clear of Leipzig, atop the Bundesliga.

German double is probably their minimum target.

I asked on the Bayern subreddit and got this response:

"he had a red card suspension until early february but since then he played in all four games in the third division. He scored two times. Though last game he only was a substitute his performance is a bit up and down but this is normal for this age."

40 mins off the bench and a goal in a 2-0 win over Sonnenhof Großaspach (19th/2nd last).

Nice volley with the left peg. Ugly playing strip.

Was 0-0 when Singh came on.

BM II 8th, and a comfortable 9 points above Liga 3 drop zone now.

Interesting that Singh is getting sub appearances only last few weeks for BM II. He is obviously one of their best players, so presumably it's to keep him relatively fresh if the first squad get any injuries. They play Augsburg tomorrow.

But also I note the young 20 yr old Sth Korean Jeong Woo-Yeong, in Feb came back to Bayern from a loan spell at Freiburg. He has been playing in Singh's number 10 role, last few weeks with BM II. Credited with assist for other goal this morning.

Personally I think Jeong is being preferred over Sarpreet rather than being rested. I can see why, he's got a direct style with pace. Nice goal by Singh though

Even if things don't work out with bayern, sarpreet has made himself known to other bundesliga/bundesliga 2 clubs with his play this year. Looks like he has potential to make it long term in germany which is a massive win for him and nz football.

FYI - Bayern beat Augsburg 2-0 in Bundesliga. Retain 4 point lead. Dortmund 2nd.

Cuisance (20 yrs) and Dajaku (18 yrs) on the bench.

Zirkzee (18 yrs) with a start. Lewandowski was out injured.

Hopefully Singh is next cab off the rank, if there are further injuries.

It looks  a bit like internal politics. Never a good sign when the gaffer who liked you moves or is moved on. He needs to be playing. He's  near the top of a very cut throat industry. We'll see how he responds. Good goal.

Bayern & Germany@iMiaSanMia

Today was a day off, but Hansi Flick completed an extra training session with Mickaël Cuisance, Fiete Arp, Leon Dajaku, Lukas Mai, Sarpreet Singh & Christian Früchtl. Flick takes time for the youngsters who get little to no game time, something that will please the bosses [Bild]

Will he be in the squad?

He’s been training with first team for months.

But I’m guessing his chances of making the match day squad are now less, as previous injured players have possibly recovered over the last 2 months.

I'd say him and other young talents are almost certain to get game time if Bayern begin to run away in the title race, since five substitutes are permitted for the rest of the season

Yes that would be true. Though Bayern are currently only 4 points ahead of Dortmund, with 9 rounds to go.

Having no midweek UCL games to juggle will work in their favour.

I think this goes two ways - some players will have recovered but some players will get injured because they're launching back in to the season with about ten days of training. There were a few injuries in the first round of games overnight apparently.

Bayern are in a strong position position but they've got 4 teams within five points of them at the top of the ladder so I don't see them running away with the title, definitely not to the point where they start handing out first team opportunities because they can. Especially since they've got Dortmund away as well as teams like Leverkusen and Wolfsburg who'll definitely give them a challenge.

Not in match day squad as Bayern travel to Union Berlin.

Dortmund won 4-0 yesterday to close gap to 1 point.

Found this Wiki update on Liga 3, which could end up more relevant for Singh

“A decision on the resumption of the competition, similar to the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga, will take place at an extraordinary meeting of the DFB-Bundestag on 25 May 2020.[5] On 15 May, after the DFB said earlier that 26 May would be the start date to resume, the date was moved back as not all teams can train again regularly. The intention still is to finish the season, with games maybe even after 30 June.[6]

I think Singh will be back in the A-League sooner then later with no game time at all and always overlooked, he could end up being another Chris James or worse another Rojas?

While I don't want to dish Chris James and his career, I think the above shows your lack of football nous Royz.

Coutinho never really broke through at Barcelona so I reckon he's likely to sign for the Newcastle Jets next season. Similarly, Kevin De Bruyne completely failed at Chelsea, as did Mohamed Salah. I've heard rumours those two are likely to be playing for Adelaide or Central Coast next season. Heard it here first.

Not in match day squad as Bayern host Eintracht Frankfurt.

Dortmund won 2-0 earlier in the day at Wolfsburg to keep the pressure on.

The two meet at Dortmund Tuesday in a huge game, sans fans.
