When you precisely coordinate the number of crackers to cheese to salami ratio on your post-work snack plate, only for your missus to come along and fudge it up by breaking with convention by taking 2 crackers.

When it starts to hail, and you plan on going outside and scooping some of the hail up, but when you go outside to do so by the time the rain has stopped the hail has already melted.

Public transport issues. Took an hour from leaving work just to get on a bus yesterday. I work by the train station and the bus I get home is often full by the time it gets to the top end of Lambton Quay so I usually walk down to Cable Car to make sure I can get on it. Did that yesterday and thought it was odd that at 5pm not a single bus came past me on the way, then got there and noticed a bus had broken down at the bottom end of Lambton blocking the road so no other buses could get past. So walked all the way back to train station to get a train instead (bus is a 2 minute walk home from the end of my street and train is a 15-20 minute walk all up-hill so usually opt for the train in the morning and the bus home) only to first hear that the train was running 15 minutes late then when that time came that the line was suspended due to a tree falling on the track.

So back up to the station bus stop where buses were now going again but of course with the backlog of people everything was full by the time it got there so walked back down Lambton Quay again and eventually got on a bus. Anyone else get messed around by this yesterday?

When somebody phones you up to tell you that you need to phone someone about something when they could have easily called the person themselves and told them what they needed to know.

I am sure that it has been mentioned before, but people walking down crowded streets or through packed stations in rush hour looking at their phones. If you need to read that vital text, move out of the way of normal people who can go 5 minutes without checking their phones.

And people who insist on wearing their massive backpacks when standing on crowded trains, when they could easily take them off and put them between their legs. Worse than ISIS.

When someone sits next to you on the train and there are plenty of spare/empty seats. Then pull out their cellphone to make a phone call even though it was obvious before they sat down that I was reading a book!

We've now got a prime minister that believes in imaginary friends, doesn't believe in climate change, voted against gay marriage and abortion, and is a dreadful boxer.

He's lived in Wellington since 1990 in a house who's mortgage payments he defrauded from the taxpayer (by lying and saying he just rented it rather than owned it) so any "farmer brown" allusions are just image.

However he is a good practising Catholic yet now says he would not vote against gay marriage if they had to vote against. He voted against it first time round. Surely that is a contradiction?? And for such a long experienced politician he did not come across as being a quietly confident type on TV tonight.

All religions (including anti religions) are pretty much one big contradiction.

Luckily he doesn't have the "charisma" of Donald Trump.

The otherthing that pisses me off is our deputy prime minister who cut the very services that she used to get off the poverty line.

Sounds like most farmers I know. The IRD should be targeting them rather then tradies

Trying to get Fibre connected while renting up a shared driveway with 3 other houses with 3 different owners. Thought it would be too difficult but figured there was nothing to lose by trying so given it a go but seems too much hassle to get work done to a place that's not even mine and where I could be given notice to move out any day. Very frustrating to have it available just metres away at the end of the driveway.

I thought they changed the laws so that Chorus can install the fibre without all the owners consent? You're lucky you can get fibre when we bought our house Vodafone said we could get cable and Chorus said we could get VDSL, turns out we could get neither. I work from home for a company based in Europe and ADSL is shark for video meetings.

We dont even feature in any Fibre roll out for the next few years here in Clive and we are positioned about half way between the two biggest towns in the region.

I believe the law change is that owners must have some reasonable justification for refusing consent but don't think that has come into effect yet. Currently, consents from all owners are required and they can just say no without needing an acceptable reason. Lucky it's technically available to my address I guess, but seems like there's too many hurdles to actually get it. Don't think we can get VDSL or cable either so we're probably stuck with ADSL too.

I'm not offended, can't stand that word either. Just weird to see journos etc tip toe around saying that he was a systematic drugs cheat, and some cyclists willing to ride with him in an event seemingly organized by a brewery. I doubt Nadzeya Ostapchuk would get a similar half-welcome (I had to Google the spelling on that one!).

I hope the little Australian boy that has run away from home in Marlborough because of being bullied by the local kids for being Australian. FFS New Zealand, we should be above this sort of bullying crap. Shame on the locals.

Unfortunately kids can be cods, bullying is going nowhere any time soon.
