Im guessing Aloisi wants Brattan to position himself in the midfield to get the ball, rather than dropping back between the CB's.

Brisbane Roar is 'extremely disappointing'? Good engrish. Plus the title font, jesus. Seems unprofessional all-round, including the little swipe at the end.

I'm sure Queensland Rugby Union is disapointed that they haven't been paid rent for a year and that Brisbane Roar suddenly left their facilities without giving them notice (or even letting them know).

Brisbane Roar coach John Aloisi is keeping a brave face despite reports the proposed sale of the A-League club has fallen through.

According to News Corp, Brisbane chairman Chris Fong is in Paris in a last-ditch attempt to offload the Bakrie Group-owned club to a new consortium of Australian and overseas investors.

The report also claimed an earlier move to sell the club for $18 million to a separate cartel based out of Italy and Germany had collapsed.

The developments leave the Roar at risk of being wound up, if they are unable to settle a $60,000 debt with the Queensland Rugby Union over unpaid rent by August 19, while there are also doubts over who will pay players and staff on the next due date for wages this Saturday.

Aloisi said he and the players have no choice but to ignore the Roar's off-field turmoil and focus on Tuesday night's FFA Cup clash with Western Sydney.

"It's not ideal but it will come to a head. It has to," Aloisi said.

What we bring is ruin and disaster. The A-League needs a team in Canbera, Tasmania, and a second team in Brisbane (as the Roar do so well).

For some unexplained reason the fact that the Phoenix exists stops these teams putting in a bid for expansion.

Therefore, because of the compelling argument above #nixout.

The FFA have too much money and aren't running enough clubs at the moment.

See I think you have it wrong there Ryan. They need a team in either Gold Coast or North Queensland. Thats bound to go off.

See without us it would suddenly be a 15 team competition. No wonder the FFA aren't offering us a license extension.

BRISBANE Roar players and staff remain in limbo ahead of Saturday’s deadline for wages to be paid.

Owners the Bakrie Group are desperately trying to sell the club to ensure debts are cleared and wage commitments are met.

However, time is all but up, with Football Federation Australia poised to take over the running of the Roar not for the first time since the inception of the A-League in 2005.

Quite a few players on their books which will be worth a look at if the Roar are in breech of contract.

Jaime Mclaren for instance, although he wouldn't want to go through another contract battle. CB's? I don't really fancy Jade North again.

brown stuff => twirly thing.

It's a shame that a club that was so dominant just a couple of seasons ago can end up like this, and shows just how fragile the league is outside of the big two cities.

Brisbane is a city of more than 2 million people with a club that has been fighting for the title more than not in the last half dozen years, if they can't make it work then something is seriously wrong with the league.

Instead of treating us like shark the FFA and Australian media and fans should be singing our praises as we are pretty much the benchmark of how to run a team now.

The funny thing is about how some people out there wanted to see a second Brisbane. This shows what a silly idea that would have been. I think Melbourne Victory, Sydney FC, maybe Adelaide and maybe WSW are the only teams you could call sell sufficient. The rest of the teams all need money to be pumped into them. It just shows how valuable having a stable ownership is.

Not sure of the logic. Financial mismanagement doesn't negate fan potential and big-city potential two-club fan rivalry. Just as financial (& on-field) mismanagement of our previous Auckland A-League team shouldn't negate per se any attempt at establishing a future Dorkland A-League outfit IMO. You just need stable ownership plus vision and commitment.

I've heard that Adelaide struggles financially.

FIFA regulations mean one organisation cannot control more than one club in the same competition concurrently - to prevent match fixing etc.

actually, upon looking into it...that seems to be a UEFA and EPL rule but multiple ownership is quite common elsewhere. It should be a FIFA rule though!

well that's hilarious then. Maybe Welnix could take their licence after ours expires at the end of the season, then relocate the team to Wellington and rename the team "Phoenix"
