I really wonder about the Diamanti and WU in general.

Even though he has played a number of games the last few seasons, he's 36 and one bad injury and WU are down the gurgler.

They pretty much have a squad of centrebacks, so mark Diamanti out of the game and you blunt them. I put Scott McDonald in a similar category. Shades of Del Pierro Sydney.

Horvat / Rudan is assembling a very old squad there.

I think Kone will be the major threat - this may come back to haunt me but I don't think Diamanti will be worth it. But as a whole I agree, bloody strange squad. Without Kurto and Kone I'd say it would be a wooden spooner for sure.

With the only difference that Del Piero was a tier 1 footballer and Diamanti, maybe, a tier 3 one!

We are so lucky that this league is salary capped!

They have 13 players signed and two of them are designated players .... They have a lot of cap space to shop for players atm.

The Jets are yet to replace Ivan Vujica, who was released to join new Melbourne club Western United.

Coach Ernie Merrick's preference is for an attacking player.

The Jets inquired about Andy Keogh, who has reportedly been frozen out at Perth Glory despite the striker having signed a one-year extension, but the Irishman appears likely to stay in the west.

The 33-year-old former international knocked back an approach from Adelaide United in the off-season and according to sources is reluctant to move from Perth, where a number of his family have migrated.

Perth are understood to be happy for Keogh to depart but do not intend to pay him out or do any deals with other clubs that involve the Glory cover some of his wage.

The Jets budget has been cut and they have limited money available in the $3.1 million salary cap to spend.

hilarious if Fornaroli is a flop now. I don't like Keogh, and he always seems to score tap ins and scrappy goals, but he still gets them at a pretty good rate

He just needs to take the test for citizenship as well, so will be a non visa player soon. Keogh was pissed at not starting the Grand Final but wasn't trying to force his way out, Popa just decided he didn't want him anymore. The Glory's press release was the bare minimum they could say.

No whiff of salary cap issues? Tough way to treat the guy. Not sure we've heard everything

They have 3 scholarship players and their academy to make up a squad. I've got $20 on the Jets at $4.50 for their FFA Cup game next Wednesday.

Fell out with the coach. So attitude issue I would say. They have signed Fornaroli so Keogh not happy being a bit part player. He did alot of bench time last year, even in the final.

English transfer window closes in another week. Decision time I guess for any England based players weighing up signing there or moving elsewhere like the A league.

Wonder if there is anyone on Phoenix radar in this position.

Dunno how I feel about this. I would love to see Wes in the league but he is a luxury player. An old one at that.

I don't want to witness the decline of a canaries legend this close.
