Jets to sign Wes Hoolahan

English transfer window closes in another week. Decision time I guess for any England based players weighing up signing there or moving elsewhere like the A league.

Wonder if there is anyone on Phoenix radar in this position.

I might well be wrong on this (and happy to be proved so) but my understanding is English teams can still sell/release players to teams in other countries that have an open window themselves, they just can't sign anyone after the English window closes. Additionally, I believe Hoolahan is currently with Unattached FC so is free to sign for any club.

Yeah, our window is the only one that matters. That closes the 15th October.

Ok I see. My question then. So if someone like Hoolahan that is unattached, can he still sign for an English club after the english transfer window closes?

Yep, so long as you were unattached when the window closes you can still sign after it closes.

Sounds like the other Korean might not be signing, he doesn't get on with CCM's coach either.

Great time for a friendly vs Mebourne Victory - they only have 13/23 contracted players.

How will they get on in the FFA Cup?

They have 3 scholarship players and their academy to make up a squad. I've got $20 on the Jets at $4.50 for their FFA Cup game next Wednesday.

Guessing that was one of the Ozzie bookies... got $4.00 at beteasy.com.au

Deal is off, Pepper remains a Roar player.

It's Djuric from Serbia. Djuric from Bosnia is an absolute monster at 1.99m (he's also a Serb ethnically, not that anyone cares about that).

I wonder if he tried Ufuk after Euro fell through and was told, you had your chance??

Still, i hope he gets a gig at CM, another kiwi playing professionally is a win.

I wonder if missing out on the Aussie u20's when Ufuk was involved may have influenced his decision to turn us down. I really hope he gets a gig at CCM, he came thru their academy so it would be a return home for him.
