Pick Dane Ingham, play him against Fiji so we can cap tie him.
Is he that good?
He's 17 and playing Senior level. Didn't feature in the last two games for the Roar.
Seems like a decent product from the Roar academy. I haven't seen him play myself, but I mean, if he is only 17, and everything goes right for him e.g. no injuries like Henry Cameron, then I guess he might be a player worth investing our time in.
I did say in a previous post, if he does tie his allegiance to NZ, he has a lot coming up for him this year, being eligible for U-20 World Cup and possibly Confeds if he is good enough.
It must be more attractive for Dane to play for NZ at both u-20 and senior level rather than #FailingOzYouthPrograms.
Australia just aren't making the grade at youth level anymore and haven't qualified for any FIFA age group tournaments (u-20's, Olympics etc.) for a while.
Australia failed to qualify for this year's FIFA u-20 World Cup in May in South Korea (Iran, Vietnam, Saudis and Japan qualified from AFC to join hosts Korea). They didn't make it to NZ in 2015 either.
Dane was part of a Joeys training camp a month ago preparing for AFC qualifiers in October for the 2019 FIFA u-20 World Cup.
If you were Dane, you may well think "Stuff playing for Australia u-20 later this year when they might not even qualify for the 2019 u-20 World Cup. I'm jumping ship to NZ so I can play in this year's FIFA u-20 Finals in Korea. And this bloke Hudson has said he'll give me a run for the NZ senior team. And my brother has also decided to join the NZ senior squad. Cool !!!"
The draw hasn't been made yet, but if Dane plays for NZ u-20's in Korea in October, he could be up against confirmed qualifiers Argentina, Uruguay, England, Germany, Italy, France, Portugal or Mexico.
Apparently:

"The Ingham brothers – Jai and Dane: According to a report in Thursday’s Herald Sun newspaper, the Victory winger is set to be included in the NZ squad as well as his 17-year-old brother Dane, who has made a handful of appearances at Brisbane Roar, including a stunning goal in Perth."
Also tipped on the A-League website to be selected by Hudson:
From the Wellington Phoenix: Keeper Glen Moss, defender Andrew Durante, winger Kosta Barbarouses, left-back Tom Doyle, Michael McGlinchey, Louis Fenton, Matthew Ridenton and Shane Smeltz
Victory's Marco Rojas, Mariners' Storm Roux
Big Pete 65, Christchurch
