Think Payne was better in the DM space. There was too much of a gap between midfield and defense at times. On attack we often got sandwiched into one side at times. But overall our press was good. We looked good. Bright future

Thomas had a good game.  He will be good to watch over the next few years.

I have heard before people thinking smith could play left back. Is this solely down to being left footed or does he have experience there? I can't recall him ever playing for Ipswich there but may be wrong. If he can gallop a bit down the flank and with Reid and Boxall in the centre, that potentially could be tidy. Saying that I thought the new kid did ok there today.

Did well to fly back to Auckland so quickly then.

Three for me, and two for them.

Wynne deserves huge credit I think. Considering it was his first game, he did not look out of place.

Has anyone seen much of him until this point?

In this thread: 23 serious posts, 5 not serious.  Still well below the 3% limit (580 by my calculations).

Wynne IMO was a bit lucky. China for some reason decided not to attack down his side. He also left his man a few times which to be fair Boxall and Smith were also doing. Obviously the kid is young and the performance is promising but I think we would be a little disappointed if Doyle was selected and played like that.

Only seen the highlights and haven't read back through the thread and will but please correct me on these points:

-a familiar pattern- Rojas,Kosta and Wood are great players who can't side foot the ball past a goal keeper

- our centre back pair were caught flat footed on a number of occasions while the others waltzed around in the area

overall MV and Adelaide might have beaten the teams out there on display...

Positives- very young side. Very talented attacking side. We attacked in the air and along the ground and pressed well.

Negatives- we were caught on the counter easily in the first half, with our defenders without a clue where their players were. Gleeson was ok, but not near Moss.

I thought we did well. I liked Tuiloma in DM and thought positionally he was good. Also he is a threat going forward. In saying that, Payne did well when he came on. But he seemed to chase more... is this because he worked harder, or is Tuilom better at holding his position and keeping runs in check?

Wynn did well.

Not sure why Smith is getting bagged by a couple, other than people still miffed. He muscled up really well and his distribution was fairly solid. Plus how about those step overs??

Rojas drifted out too much... and why does Barbarouses never match his club form in internationals?

Cheers, wasn't sure as it was only a quick shot and he had the build and stature of Embers.
