No Wood for this one either.
Good chance for Mata to step up in his absence here.

Would of liked to have seen Greive in for Kosta though...

Not much in the way of goals in that lineup I worry. If we get a penalty I suppose a few guys might fancy it but from open play could be a bit tough.

Tactical jinx... possibly

Just realised that this game is on a Thursday in Auckland - I fear for the size of the crowd at Mt Smart. Anyone on the southern motorway is in for a hard time. For those who need a compass note the word southern.Β

I was in Auckland last week. Fudge the traffic is awful in that city. It really plays a part in what you do/where you go from it seems about 3pm in the afternoon midweek (school pickup time). I was driving in that Mangere/Papatoetoe area 3-4pm. Fudge it was horrid, gridlock on a one lane Great South Road. I'd think twice about trying to battle to Penrose for sure.

Danish crew arrived quite late- Bell and Just on the bench likely because of this.

Β Maybe they hoping that if they wear the Chinese team down, Just and Rojas will be more effective as impact subs.

Many missing players, but by national team standards, this team is very weak on paper.

Let's hope the coaching team have got the setup right

He's looking good, but that was poor by Garbett. Needs more composure than that. Mind you, he might have seen Kostas miss over the weeken and made a call

Tim Payne really makes me nervous when he has to play the ball.

Entertaining game so far though.

our defensive shape has gone to shark.

the back line is dropping off. the front three aren't stopping the early pass forward any more

That ball from Payne and run from Kosta has been on all night. Glad the found it. Pit about the shot-cross effort. But pretty positive signs so far

Just, Rojas and Lewis is a fairly creative lot on the bench. Kosta with the best goal scoring record in the team?

Some good positives there tbh. With our A team on I think we'd have a couple on them by now. Always hard to break down a team that plays as negative as that.

We just need that one penetrating pass and we're in.

Spot on with that take so far mate.

Still, a decent half, but would like to see Greive and Bell on for a bit more dynamism in that final third and in the build up. I'd say they'll be called upon about the hour mark though.

Well our defensive back have had a great work out - all the passing back and forth across the pitch followed by the hopeful long ball.Β

The midfield and forwards might has well sit on the bench and leave them to it. They get is a rare attacking position down either wing, then it's play it back time yet again. It's not just Asian teams that play negative football, NZ teams have been doing it for years. With the odd player to shine. I like Libby's new hair cut.

Β Christ, Kosta only has about 4 goals. Hopefully we can get the younger lot to bang in some this year, outside of wood it's pretty grim

That's part of the problem. We never seem to have the A team available (injuries etc).Β
