Well there isnt if u compare him and Wynne. Musa has foreign parents and spent longer here in NZ than Wynne. Musa came here at 7 years old. Wynne 14 or 15

But the problem with Wynne, and I assume Musa as well is that they must have lived in NZ for at least 5 years after the age of 18 to be eligible...Neither have

That's why you apply for a fifa exemption. Obviously something Wynne did as he does not qualify any other way.  Wynne is now back. I guess musa has applied and is still waiting or is eligible and not been picked.

We applied for 18 exemptions after WynneGate, all 18 were granted. If we applied for Musa, he has it already.

Great article here on everything you need to know on Mexico vs NZ.

For the first time ever El Tri, as Mexico's national soccer team affectionately is known, is coming to Nashville. It's a testament to the area's swelling interest in the most popular sport in the world and the city's rapidly growing Latino population, which has increased by by 858% from 34,309 in 1980 to 328,979 in 2014 statewide.

Mexico, ranked No. 15 by FIFA in their latest world rankings, will use Saturday's game against No. 88-ranked New Zealand at Nissan Stadium, as preparation for next month's World Cup qualifier against rival USA. The U.S. and Mexico square off on Nov. 11 in Columbus, Ohio, where the U.S. has beaten the Mexicans in four consecutive World Cup qualifiers by identical scores of dos a cero.

Coming off a humiliating 7-0 loss to Chile in this summer's Copa America, and a so-so performance against Honduras at home last month, Mexico is hoping to get back on track against New Zealand before Panama in Chicago next week and the U.S. after that.

The game will feature some of Mexico's best players. Though two of their most recognizable players, Javier "Chicharito" Hernadez and Guillermo Ochoa, will be absent from this game other stars like Giovani dos Santos, his younger brother Jonathan dos Santos, Marco Fabian, Oribe Peralta and Alan Pulido were named to the roster scheduled to play here in the Music City this weekend.

New Zealand, which has only qualified for the World Cup twice since they began participating in 1970, features players who play professionally in England, Germany and three players who play in the U.S., including defender Sam Brotherton, a freshman on the Wisconsin Badger's soccer team.

And who were the other 17?

Hudson said last week that he couldn't pick Musa or de Vries.

When pressed by Gourdie himself as to whether that was because they were A, flat-out ineligible or B, in the process of having it sorted, he said B.

Two of the 17 will be Burfoot and Roux; the others I imagine are kids in the NZF mix.

Anyone on here planning on attending the game against the USA in DC, or know of any America-based All Whites supporters groups? I'm considering coming down from Boston for the match, and would be great to meet up with some other fans.

I'm trying to organize Airbnb & flights to NY now from San Fran or San Jose-NY then train train down to DC on the Tues morning...

I came on here to ask if anyone knew where a possible NZ section in the ground might be? Keen for a beer prior so we can organize ourselves but if anyone knows..?

Interesting article on All Whites assistant coach Peter Taylor:

All Whites appointing Peter Taylor frightens me after his Bradford City failure

PINION: Peter Taylor's heralded appointment to the ranks of New Zealand football sent shivers down my spine.

Taylor joined Anthony Hudson's coaching team last month to assist with liaising with New Zealand's footballers in Europe, while hunting for future All Whites dotted around the football-mad continent.

that interview with Hudson was interesting as he was hinting at a different set up to at home - so I think those picking a 5-2-2-1 or similar may be right  - ie 5 at the back. And despite assertions to the contrary after the OFC I think we'll see the two wing backs play like full backs and pinging Woodsy. This will be a massive test for Wee Mac in particular as I honk he'll be asked to play central/defensive midfield. Not his natural position but one he has performed a few times for the national team.

Any predictions of a score?

I'll go with 5 - 1 Mexico with our goal being spectacular :);

I'm hoping with Winnie back in the heart of defence, a marked improvement defensively from 2013 playoff games v Mexicans - when he was absent.

If the for and against over these 2 games, is say minus 8 goals or worse - the Hudson should come under some real pressure re his job. There also needs to be a visible improvement in playing style and ability to hold possession for periods.

I was prepared to cut AH some slack for the overall average performance in PNG, because in the end they qualified for Confeds. But he now has a much stronger AWs team on paper (bar say Thomas's continued absence) - so it's time for him to be judged properly.

These the ideal tough games, that are long overdue for Hudson & AWs. Time to perform, I'm actually optimistic they might go okay. Playing like Iceland would do fine!

This is "show time" for Hudson. He has got the team he wants(almost). Now we will see if he is all mouth and self promotion or if he can really coach. Because Mexico will put his team under real pressure. They will be fast and mobile and will move the ball about with pace.

I don't expect a result for us however it is how the team plays is much more important. It they look organised and compact, if the players appear to know what the game plan is and if they battle solidly all match then they would get a pass mark from me.

I suspect that Hudson will go for 5 accross the back. Hopefully he goes for his most experianced players. This will be no place for kids currently playing amateur level in NZ

My team

                        Gleeson

        Ried         Them       Dura/Brotherton

Boxall                                    Wynne

             Weemac   Cameron

                  Barb's     Rojas

                         Wood
