Back to the city on the free buses, sounds like we'll be heading to The Fox to watch the Nix.

The half way line blocks are selling none too badly.

The White Noise section is going to be lonely, drunken and noisy.

I put my family in the zone beside the Noize and not in it as neither they or I can understand why the Fever/Noize stand up for 90 minutes, blocking people's views etc ruining the good vibes that emanate from it.

Standing doesn't happen much here in the UK anymore (I've been to 10 games this season (the grounds of Truro, Plymouth, Leeds, Reading, Watford, Wycombe, Oxford) and everyone seated but chanting away.

You sound like a cheerful bloke.

I am (in a good way!) don't worry about that, just curious as to the whole standing up thing.

15K optimistic considering we are playing a nothing team... i hope so.

Our recent results paying dividends.

I'd say that New Caledonia are probably going to be one of the best of the Island teams this time around though.

They have two players playing in Ligue 2 in France - a better league than the A-League.

Only a Chris Wood goal in the 49th minute separated the two sides a the OFC Nations Cup in June - and New Caledonia's star striker Gope-Fenepej wasn't playing.

Lets not forget June 8 2012 when they rather comfortably beat us in the OFC Nations Cup semi in Honiara.

New Caledonia won two friendlies away to the Solomons 3-0 and 1-0 last month.

Georges Gope-Fenepej: 6 games for the striker at fifth-placed Amiens in Ligue 2 so far this season after 18 games in the club's promotion from the third division last season. Previously played 18 games for Troyes in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2; 20 times for Boulogne in the third division.         Scored six goals in eight World Cup qualifiers last time around.

Cesar Zeoula: 12 appearances for the midfielder at Stade Lavallois in Ligue 2 this season. 38 appearances last season. Has been there since 2011. First team regular.

Joël Wakanumuné: Eleven year career in French football, the midfielder returned to play in New Caledonia this year.

Jorys Mene: 21 year-old defender, scouted by Amiens as a 12 year-old and played in their youth teams from age 13. Also at Le Havre where he played in the reserve team of the Ligue 2 side. Now at Ailly-Sur-Seine in the fifth tier.

Bertrand Kai: Has played all his club football in his home country but was Oceania Footballer of the Year in 2012 ahead of Smeltz and Wood. The 33 year-old is still one of the most dangerous strikers in Oceania.

Tahiti beat the Solomons at home 1-0 in the opening game of this round of qualifiers during the week:

I would expect New Caledonia to win both of their games against Fiji which means we really cannot afford to lose either of the games against them. Lose a game and we'll both likely end on three wins, relying on goal difference to keep our world cup qualification campaign going (and nobody wants that).

Two blocks of Silver/Gold seats have now sold out, with 90% of the other Gold blocks gone too.

The others are about half full, with the exception of the WN section and the adjoining section.

Could be a decent croud.

WeeMac was playing deeper than that in the last couple of games though (although the formation might change for the OFC games). Hudson-Wihongi would be the obvious choice for the deep distributing role I would think

I bought earlier when it was not open, and I would have waited if I had known and bought up there!

Lineup prediction;

Marinovic - Graham/Boxall/Durante/Wynne - Themi/TAHW - Rojas/Thomas/Kosta - Wood

With Monty, Cameron, and (regrettably) Dyer coming on

Put money on it now, from the guy who coined it from Ireland beating the AWs, and Trump putting the stone-cold stunner on Hillary!

Am guessing line up will be:

Mari

Graham, Box, Dura, Themi, Wynne

Rojas- Tui-Thomas

Kosta-Wood

Not sure Rojas is actually best suited to playing as an AM as has showed for the Victory that he's great playing as an old fashioned winger.

I think if Wee Mac was fit Rojas and Kosta would effectively share the same role across the two legs and he'd try and keep them fresh. Instead Monty likely to do that. Lewis to sub for Thomas at 70 mins if we are ahead. Cameron for last 10 mins.

I think it's risky having Bambi and Rojas in the middle. I think TAHW would be useful to keep it tight in the middle and win the ball for the early ball to Wood. NC will be physical and we have to assert ourselves in the midfield otherwise we'll be limited to long balls to wood again like at the OFC

I think there's a good chance Lewis will keep his place from the US tour. Marco could play as the 10 or next to Wood with Thomas behind and Kosta on the bench.

Our home record in World Cup Qualifiers suggests we shouldn't have too many worries this afternoon...of course, if Hudson loses his nerve again and goes for hoofball, who knows.

PLD WON DREW LOST FOR AGAINST GOAL DIFF
AFC 20 11 5 4 49 17 + 32
CONCACAF 1 0 0 1 2 4 - 2
OFC 14 14 0 0 73 4 + 69
UEFA 2 1 1 0 5 3 + 2

4 out of 4 against New Caledonia in World Cup Qualifiers at all venues, scoring 10 and conceding 2, and 2 wins from 2 at home, scoring 5 and conceding 1.

Not quite so good reading looking at all games against New Caledonia, where we've only won 18 out of 30, with 11 defeats.  At home, it's 9 wins and 1 defeat from 10, scoring 29 and conceding 10 - that's the only ever home loss against a (current) OFC nation, out of 37 games (scored 164, conceded 18).
