You don't have to be that fast when the marking is so poor your grandmother would look quick. Watch the goals in slow motion and see what huge gaps we created in defence. We were overawed and you wouldn't play that loose in an A League game. Ball watching was more of a problem than lack of speed in my book.

man, honkees so slow

Never see a thread that is such a load of crap. When has anyone ever seen a player run a 100 metres in football. It does not happen? Sure you need to be sharp, but when did any of these so called quick players in the EPL ever have to make that kind of sprint. Do any of these stupid comments have anything to do with football?
+1, these statistics give a very vague indication of someone's speed on a football pitch. Watching them play is the only real way to gather just how quick/slow someone is in a game.
You know we belong together...

Quote of the Confederations Cup goes to Spanish and Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas. Asked by TV3's Andrew Gourdie whether he had a message for New Zealand fans, he looked up, contemplated the question, then replied "no", before returning to sign autographs. Pure gold.

"I should have gone out of my way to get the match team sheet," said Herbert. "How often will New Zealand sides get to play against a team like that?

"I would now, looking back on that game, dearly love to have the team sheet which shows I coached a team who played against the likes of Fernando Torres, Cesc Fabregas, Xabi Alonso and others who are right up there among the biggest names in our game. You should frame things like that."

I wonder if Herbert got any autographs?

I don't think anyone go close enough to a Spanish player to get an autograph let alone heaven forbid a tackle.

I'm in rare agreement with auskiwi on this one. These comments are really lame and soft.
