anyone getting this to work on Fifa+ outside NZ?
nope....cant get it on Fifa+

Fifa+ only has the rights in NZ, so you need to use a vpn if you are outside of NZ

Jeez that was a waste of a rare free kick chance.

Very tough on Waine. He looks like a guy who’s had no football dropped into a top level game. Which is what he is.

Had forgotten how good Paulsen’s feet were. He seems so comfortable passing the ball.

Really enjoying this half so far.
I know Baze has only delivered one win of note, but the football he gets us playing sometimes is just lovely to watch. Such a great change after the dross we've been served up over the last few coaches.
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Going well but still struggle for goal scoring chances. A bit of luck involved with our few chances. Thomas uncharacteristically poor by his standards as has been Garbett and Singh and Payne if I’m being honest. If they go back to what they’re normally like we have a good chance to win this.

Only been watching for about 10 mins but seems Poland has dominated the ball and had quite a few chances?

Complete opposite, imo. New Zealand’s had the greater weight of chances

Poland have slightly dominated possession but a lot on their own half, we've been pressing well. Chances pretty much even. Good display considering the difference in ranking between the two teams.

Payne is not up to standard... which is not great considering he is arguably our best RB. His touch is too heavy and he keeps getting caught on the ball with slow option taking.

Waine has worked really hard - but man he must hate always playing up top by himself. He always seems to be a lone ranger. How would he go playing off Woods shoulder etc. He has a bit of pace.

Stamenic looking good, Thomas a little flat and Garbett is energetic, albeit a little wasteful with a heavy touch causing him to lose the ball too much for me.

De Vries offering more than Payne... man he can hit a cross.

Respectable first half but the boys need to tidy up with some of their passing and touching. Been really uncharacteristically clumsy throughout.  Pleased Bazely has given Paulsen a go in his new home country!

I think Waine has been pretty good with the press and could of put us ahead there. Looks like he can do alright in a system that suits him.

I feel I’ve been watching something quite different!
We’ve startled them with how confident we are on the ball.

The guys at a higher level and who’ve been in camp have shown it the most.

The 4 guys at the lower levels showed. Garbett took a moment to adjust to the tempo. Waine isn’t ready to be leading the team up top, but he’s doing his best considering he’d probably prefer to be chasing a ball behind more than hold it up.

The two fullbacks have been surprisingly good, with a couple of poor touches. One moment Payne had a particularly nice piece of skill and Thomas an uncharacteristically poor touch and I got them confused!

But even Thomas not at 100% is class and linking that Boxall, Paulsen, Stamenic, Singh spine.

Garbett or McCowatt with our best chances and good to see Waine involved, laying the ball off and being busy around the box.

Anyway- impressive imo! Think we’ll see a second half response. Tough yellow on Boxy.

Thoughts on the half:

  • Poland have looked closer to OFC than UEFA at times, but how bloody good is it to see us be competitive with a European nation and give em a big headache.
  • A nefarious Polish official got wind of our Kiwi-taka play in possession and sabotaged us by pouring washing liquid on the pitch. I'm more surprised when a player doesn't slip over at this point.
  • Probably a knock on effect from my second point, but some of the touches from Garbs, Thomas, and particularly FdV have been woeful.
  • Waine giving his all but not particularly giving much - can't help feeling Wood would be feasting on Poland's centre half pairing.
  • Boxall continues to get better and better and the long range passing he's been spraying is a joy
Annual finals disappointment enthusiast.

Great goal unfortunately. If Paulsen was just a bit taller he probably could've got fingertips to that and maybe pushed further onto the bar? But other than that nothing he could do

Now that we are down one, might as well make a change - bring on Wood but leave Waine on, let's see how they work together up front

Play well, but dont take chances >> Concede
Story of New Zealand football isn't it?

Very good goal nonetheless, but sometimes it just feels like we're suckers for punishment - We can go toe to toe against very good teams, but we're just lacking that real touch of class to regularly go out and grab results against them. 😮‍💨

Not a good look those extended protests from Garbett. Worse once you’d seen the challenge.

De Vries does not have the speed to try and get around the outside of his man, but how good of him to confirm that for me just before. 🤣

When he's got the ball up in that final third the instruction should be for him to just get it in the mixer and try make something of it.

Lame defending with de Vries being central for whatever reason giving his player space. Then Singh being sluggish and getting sold.

Great story that is. 👏

Great delivery on that free kick too! Just fell to the wrong person in De Vries....
