When will Hudson make a call on a replacement? Reid has been injured since the weekend and today is already Thursday.

I think the longer he takes to make a decision, the more likely he will pick an Oceania-based player, e.g. Adams.

NZF has already said they would announce the replacement a week after Reid was ruled out

They haven't said that 'a week after', they've said soon/this week. Hudson seems to have made his choice, it's just a matter of confirming logistics, which makes me think Brotherton.

"With us, we have such a short amount of time together. The key for us is to have a real simple, organised gameplan. When players come in with two or three days, a few videos, understand their roles, are clear in their roles, and we can be organised for that game.

Training for 4 to 6 minutes. Jeez, I think I could handle that.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

I can't tell if he is being serious or if there is something lost in translation about the article?

Hudson's clearly lost the plot completely...

It's called getting your excuses in early. "Not my fault, we like literally only had 5 minutes training time"

He must mean 4 - 6 hours surely?

4-6 hours of powerpoint presentation

key phrase is high intensity - ie like they would in a game.

The very, VERY warmest of gratitude and support to Shauneboy, who has gracefully shouted me a ticket to the game. :)

What have the Solomon Islanders preparations been like? Don't they have to fly up from wellington, the wairarapa and get thru auckland traffic? Save a little prayer for them.

Have they been training in Wellington?

No. It was a question. And a joke to counter the kiwi international travel.

I heard actual radio ads for this game today.

Did someone at NZF have a win on the pokies?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Right, just a bit out of left field.

Cheers mate. I'll change my cypher to "left field" because you don't have a sense of humour or history.  Loosen the tie.

Just didn't see a connection between wellington, wairarapa and auckland traffic and the Solomon Islands, so it was a bit of a tough gag to grasp - and thought they may have been in camp down there - like some of the OFC age-group teams have been doing before their big games of late.

really not a major!

The connection is that a bunch of Solomons players used to play in this part of the world.

true, though Manawatu and Nelson the two with the strongest links afaik, but then I'm not a Wellingtonian.

The rest of my footy team just looked blank when I asked them who else would be coming on Friday. "Why would we want to see them play the Solomon Islands?"

Sam Brotherton, the guy not even playing for Sunderland u23s. This could go badly wrong

Given the dropping-like-flies of the senior players, perhaps Anfony's "blooding youth" policy might pay off after all.

... is Marco really injured or is it a CBF like (allegedly) Winston's?

Friday night, 7:35pm kickoff? Good luck getting most people south of the bridge to bother. Rush hour doesn't end until then.

5000 crowd I reckon.

Ummmmm............fingers crossed Wood gets through his Burnley debut EPL game okay overnight!

Not that I should be talking like that.

However time for Hudson to swallow his pride and at least reach out to see if Boyd is available - starting to look thin at the attacking end, and he'd be handy off the bench chasing everything.

At this late stage, they can only call up players who they have had requested the releases a couple weeks ago. Doubt they requested Boyd or Brockie, so probably why no one replaces Rojas

Why don't we make a separate thread where he constantly smack about players who aren't being selected? Seems to be a very popular discussion.
