Easy javier its a dead rubber. 1 more mightve been better but it really doesnt matter. Coombes :0

I can respect your call to create depth Trip Vincent, I seriously can, but lets put the next cab off the rank names out there rather than just randoms. Liam Graham and Kris Bright? You have to be absolutely joking. The names above (and McGeorge was there last year as well) are well ahead of those two.

2nd Best is well placed to comment on this but Honiara is no place to go without numbers. The heat is severely underestimated and while I know they were there last year and its not quite 'baking' season, the boys up there will be destroyed in training. I can see reserves being called up...

Like I said, if we have to pull players off due to fatigue and finish the game with less than 11 players on the field then so be it.

Grahams a RB at a Serie B club. I really dont see how itd hurt with roux/tuiloma in fiji. Did you begrudge herbert for looking at fitzgerald in 2011? Brights the next logical striking choice surely? Allan pearce? Ok maybe

When does the U20 tournament finish? Is there a chance a few of the players could stay on once they are done?

Our last game is on the 27th.

It would appear no players from ACFC or Waitakere were considered as they play their first o league games on the 30th of march.Suppose Ricki took that into account.Would have annoyed both of them if some of their players were called up at the last minute especially for this game.

Edit:

Hmmm except for Scott.Maybe it is just to save money?

Hope they don't eat any dodgy dinners.

the last player used at RB not in the squad was Tim Myers.

Rory Fallon. While Fenton is not a striker and is in Vanuatu, he is ahead of Bright. Visibility makes a big difference.

Fitzgerald I had no issue with but his last outing should ensure he never gets picked again.

Fitzgerald was simply an example of an unknown player overseas Ricki looked at. What would be the harm at looking at Graham if he was a closer. Seen Myers. Same could be said for Bright. Seen Fallon. Point is its a dead rubber and if we had more time having a look at certain players again (Bright) or for the first time (Graham) would be a good thing in my book

Didn't mention Fenton as he's in Fiji but yes I agree.

I'm not. Not when we've got half the team already playing like him.

All Whites XI v Solomons: Spoonley, Scott, Durante, Sigmund, Hogg, Lindsay, Clapham, Keat, Rowe, Payne, Barbarouses via @Lionsden08
Sounds like it will be 4-4-1-1, Rowe & Lindsay on the wings, Payne sitting behind Kosta.

Fitzgerald played two games.

In his first game he looked solid and in the second he looked woeful.

1 bad game is not enough to discard a player for life from international football. He's more experienced now and arguebly is better suited to the players coming into the NZ team than those which are now beginning to fall out of favour and / or retire.

Lindsey a DM can't get a game for the Nix and is now set to play on the wing for NZ.... Ricki has no idea.

It is not as though this is a full strength side, it's a side cobbled together from whoever is available in order to prevent first XI players from getting suspended.

How is trying to avoid a situation where 5-6 of our players could be suspended for the most important game the All Whites have played in the last 3 years being amateur?

I agree Patrick. Javier you seem quite learned but look at the situation. It might be amateur but realistically, Ricki needs to put out 11 mobile bodies and protect those in danger of getting suspended. If he played those players and they miss that 1st leg, that would be worse. Not amateur, using the regulations to suit you. This is an NZ team.

I would not surprised to see betting at that TAB suspended.

ok agree with you, but you have to get some extra players, or from the under 23-  under 20, you cannot play a game with 14 players, regarding the yellow card situation,  brockie and bertos they are booked, and in the team,  rojas is with no danger and away.  At least he needs to add 2 more guys, just in case, I do not know if FIFA will allow NZ to present so little roster of a FIFA QUALIFIYING GAME

anyway if not amateur, you have to prepare for the situation, as roy keane once said fail to prepare. prepare to fail,

Bright should get a chance as Chris James, Henderson, Boxall. Boyens  Fitzgerald, ,   from the jap league and a Cunningham guy at least,  there you have  some to choose from for the 4 players that are left behind,..also a young  guy that is playing for Ascoli i think , .  And some guys that went to JJ.OO ,  I DO NOT KNOW IF YOU CAN PLAY WITH 14

Bright, James, Henderson for example were too far away Javier hence why they werent considered. We werent guaranteed the win against NCL. So there you go. Boxall yes he probably should be there as Defensive cover.

Paul Cunningham - god no

WHAT  about Lovermore, Lucas and Draper?

Lovemore had a good season for HBU. Yeah maybe he could've been their as well but it appears to be a cost thing. Draper also too far away. Lucas maybe. But regardless its 14 which is fine by Fifa so lets get over it

YES U R MORE THAn CORRECT,   it is a really strange scenario, tbh,  smells like amateurism, or he does not want to call up guys that are not in his plans,  but with  10 players with yellow , you have to plan a back up,  that is not manager skills at all ,   the today´s squad is 4 players short AT LEAST,

i would have taken  lovermore, myers, boxall, bright, james and fitzgerald with the team , henderson is back from injury so i dont know,  but at least those 6 and release free  bertos and brockie  , as he did with a bunch of them all

So according to their logic, I should announce I am becoming a pro footballer thus meaning I should get an AW call up. Someone should tell Kris that the reason he has 31 countries is because if he had talent, he would have stuck somewhere. One good trot in a Knights shirt and he's the best ever produced... Hi Kris, perhaps you should check yourself. Just because make a living as a freelance footballer for hire, and call yourself a 'pro' doesn't mean you are any good.

Re the 14 man thing and legalities. Pretty sure I remember reading about an African (or Caribbean) team turning up with 11 players some point in the qualification and don't think there was any hint of it being a problem. Can't find the article though.

It is great they read the forums and are entitled to have their own opinions but if they wanted them posted here, they would sign up and post their opinion themselves. I realise Twitter is a public forum and the tweets are open for everyone to see but it is a comment directed towards someone who isn't a poster on here.

I do know this sounds hypocritical coming from me considering how many tweets I post. But I only try to post things in an attempt to add to the conversation and are directed towards everyone, rather an individual.

You're a bit soft Ryan. Im not being malicious posting these. I simply find it 'news-worthy' so to speak. I for one would like to see bright  continue to do well professionally and get another shot at the AWs. He wont in this WC cycle because theres far too many attacking options.

also think its a bit arrogant of him saying you should have to be a pro before you deserve an AW callup.

There are quality players in the asb prem who could probably pick up gigs in finland or iceland or thailand or wherever but for one reason or another have chosen against leaving the country

Are we certain that if Dura takes the field tomorrow and FIFA later find that he wasn't eligible we will ONLY lose the points from the game vs the Solomons? There is no risk this will somehow invalidate our campaign and we won't be allowed to play in the play-off game?
