Hi team,

Friday 13th November Four Kings will be hosting a Q and A evening with Wynton Rufer from 8pm.
Miles Davis from radio sport will MC the night, asking Wynton your questions.
The evening will also include a charity auction with some fantastic football memorabilia ( list to follow) with the proceeds going to Wynton's WYNERS football trust.

There is no charge to get in but it would pay to get in early to get a chance to see NZ's greatest footballer.

Please email matt@fourkings your questions and I'll pass them onto Miles.

Cheers

Wynton, why is your commentary so crap?
I like tautologies because I like them.

Honesty, do we have to knock him down??

At least he is out there doing something useful in football. He was alway supporting Kiwi football. He was the only bright light in the Kingz set up.

Has anyone who has done his WYNERS course has said that it did not help their football???

Just because NZS has past problems with him, doesn't anyone else have problems with the old NZS and the new NZF??

If he believes in something different to us, so what?! If he is proactive in football, then good on him.

I hope that the Wynton's WYNERS football trust help some of the players that he has mentored. The only claim, he can say is that such and such a young player has been through our course and he was happy to learn and we are glad that we are part of that players development to enjoy his football and supported him to work hard at developing his football skills. What part would it not be true??

I don't know, but i can't see us being any useful by knocking down our greatest footballer. It that "Tall Poppy Syndrome" we tend to have. He's done more positives and little negatives.

I just don't want people to end up being negative like some of the poster on this forum that keep on and on and on trashing everything about the team and not offering any decent constructive feedback or suggest any alternative ideas.

Why can't we just get get along and hug? . . . Well maybe not that extreme but you know what I mean.

I've only read the last few posts (now deleted) but pull yourselves together you lot.

This is something bigdunc is doing for the football community and Wynton is an interesting character with some fascinating experiences AND some curious personality traits.

Should be interesting.  I'll be there.

In fact let's do something useful and email Matty some questions, otherwise all we'll get from Miles is:

Bored of this.  Don't care if you mock Christians.

Was trying to shift the focus on to getting some questions for Wynton.  Let's get on with it aye.

Wynton, do you like Miles Davis?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Tell us what it was like when you were starting out in (West) Germany.
How difficult was it to adjust?

What made you come back to NZ?

Tell us about the your time at the Kingz.

What do you think of the Phoenix?

How do you rate the All Whites chances on November 14?

What is one thing most New Zealand youngsters lack that stops them going onto bigger things in Europe?

Especially when this new 'homegrown' law comes in...non-EU players in europe will be a rareity. But thats a different thread, sorry.

Allegedly

And looking back over the last 20 years, do you think things have changed in the game in NZ?  And if so for the better or for the worse?

We have some sbsolutly fantastic auction items coming in!

Raf De Gregorio has donated a match worn shirt from the All Whites game against Charlton Athletic. He swapped with Dutch star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank. Hasselbanks shirt will be a must for any football fan!
Chris Wood has donated his shirt that he wore in the first qualifier against Bahrain and he has autographed it as well. Chris was part of the WYNRS programme. What a legend!

There will be more to follow......

All,
I've read on here the Wynton has gone 'loopy' last I heard of him in Oz, he was writing a column for Soccer International magazine.

What's happened to him? Is and was he well respetced in NZ?

I know he has an Australian wife (Lisa) but that's about it.
