Meant to be happening in Nelspruit apparently at 11:30pm.

While a training match, still should have a match thread.

nope, but I'm hoping that whoever at the All Whites does the Flip HD stuff records some of the game so we see some action

Will we even get the result or are we talking top secret?

Piney is going to the game I think.  So I'm sure he'll do a write up. 2ndBest2010-06-05 19:45:25

Can we at least have some sort of live text? Perhaps with illustrations similar to the ones you see from court reports.

Herbert MUST give some of our fringe players a go.

I thought it was a closed training match. Let's hope there is something anyway.

my hopeful lineup

           Bannatyne
    Boyens Vicelich Sigmund
       Barron Mulligan
MacGlinchey       Clapham
        Wood    Brockie

ran out of players who probally wont be starting and this is my lineup with these guys. and possible get Wee Mac and Clapham to slide into the centre of the park occasionly.

Yeah, mostly will be the second stringers and bench warmers.
For some this will be their only game in South Africa.

Permalink Permalink

I'd say it will be a mix of both

Give Killen another run, if he is fit.

yeah mcglinchey really needs  a run. I wish they had tried someone other than Christie in the past games. Seeing as they took so many midfielders, they should be playing them. I really think they took too many.

In my opinion we dont need mulligan, christie, barron, mcglinchey and clapham as backups for Brown and Elliot. Really could have taken costa instead.
But seeing as we have so many players there, we should be giving them a chance

Agreed - Barron or Mulligan probably shouldn't of gone

Especially considering we're playing three up front, it is weird we're only taking four strikers. There is certainly room for Costa.

But this debate has long since past. I feel there are a few players who will not see much, if any, game time at the World Cup. I think there is a bit of gulf between the players Ricki is confident to field against top international sides and those on the bench/stands.

for those keen to watch the game, myp2p.eu appears to be showing the game.  Due its scheduling I'll be in the office annoyingly.

I guess it was really down to Brockie or Kosta. But I too would've taken them both. Kosta would be great off the bench, can't say the same about Mulligan/Christie/Barron.

Can't Vicelich play a defensive midfield position? I think if he moved there, it would be good with someone like WeeMac or Elliot in the attacking mid position. It would also mean that Tommy Smith could start, and we wouldn't lose Vicelich's experience on the park
