I know the boys are rapt to finally achieve a point at a fifa tournament, but i don't know if i'd celebrate it to be honest as they are on tv, we didn't win and we could of.

no i agree. not too much celebration. Esp when our defence got extremely leaky and attack faded. Can't say Smeltz or Killen impressed anyone at this tournament.

Iraq were great opponents and gracious as well. I think we should really tap up on this and get some more friendlies agianst them necause we were both so equal in this one

Much better from the defence and midfield, Siggy made all the difference at the back and Elliot and Bertos had good games. Complete opposite up front where it was poor, not sure why Christie was brought on instead of James, strange decision, couldn't do anything about the other subs though.

On the plus side the commentator thought Moss was possibly the goal keeper of the tournament so far.

Here's hoping Moss moves on to bigger and greater things. Would be a bonus for the Phoenix too ;)

I would like Paston to have got a game at this level, but play your best team always, Moss is better and he was great today, really put his body on the line, instinctive saves and helped us get our first point in the Cup

Pretty happy event though we could have won we played miles better than against SA and we kept a clean sheet. Dissapointing not to score though

Decent performance..

Sigmund AND Aarron Scott made the difference at the back! Little worrying that Scott and Vicelich look so much better than Phoenix players like Mulligan, Christie, Lochead and Brown etc..

Moss did well.
Scott twice the fullback Mulligan is.
Vicelich did well.
Sigmund looked good despite recent op.
Lochead - very average!
Elliott - best of midfield
Brockie - average until tired.
Bertos, showed small glimpses but not enough
Brown - below average, left Elliott to do most of work.
Smeltz - again showed some good touches, will be missed at Phoenix.
Killen - looked average.. (Woods a better option!)

Christie - poor!
Mulligan - could have cost 2 goals in 4 mins he was on - terrible!

PHOENIX should sign Aarron Scott!!

Smeltz's volly attempt, that was rubbish, so glad we dropped that guy, :p.

Much better performance all round from the boys, Mossy is pure class.
Bertos looked good, but didn't make enough with the possesion he had.

Too early in the morning to think much more than that.

Scott Injured is probably greater than Mulligan.

He came on, got skinned in the box where moss made that brilliant point blank save.
Then gets his first real touch and gives it right to their player where we then had to give up a free kick on the edge of the box. So terrible

Bertos and especially Moss were the best for me too. Was great to finally see Sigmund on and for the time he was on didn't disappoint imo.Hope the injury wasn't serious..or was it cramp?

Don't know about being better than Brown and Lochhead. Lochy had a not so bad game and Brown did put a few balls through and hussled.

And Bertos was quite formiddable down that flank IMO.

But yeah sign up scott and drop Mulligan.

IMO Smeltz and Killen are too similar in playing styles and don't work enough off each other to make a real danger. I think Wood could have a better go at it honestly. He's a different style and when he came on in our previous games the team had a much better shape up front. We should definitley be working towards the World Cup but if we don't make it, I think NZF should start picking out promising youth ie Wood, Rojas, Barbarouses, etc and put them into a good setup to build a strong NZ team of the future
