Lot of Boyens hate here from his performances against Spain and Aussie. Fair enough.

He has though been playing a lot recently, is in good form and let's be honest, didn't have that bad a game against Mexico. He was also in the defence with Siggie against Wales.

Think he deserves another chance.

You his cousin?

No just been reading and following and of our defenders who have made themselves available he's been getting game time in a good league- (something only really Nelson of the others have, with the A-league ending a long time ago and Boxall back on the bench) and he doesn't seem to have been doing that badly in the eyes of the coach there.

He's shown his worst at the level with his shows against Spain, Aussie and China IIRC, perhaps it is only fair to give him a run now he's played himself into some good form.

Perhaps the Chivas coach is blind, deaf, dumb and mute?

I really feel we need a result here, playing good for one half wont cut it with the media or the public.

I'm sorry (I'm not really) about taking this slightly off topic, but anyone that spells "Nelsen" like "Nelson" should seriously sort their sh*t out. It really isn't that difficult and making that sort of mistake just removes any little amount of credibility from the rest of your post.
Thank you, that is all.

And calling Chris Wood "Woods". You are all football fans and they are in our national team.
Okay now that really is all.

If Moss has a shocker and lets through another three or so goals, surly when Paston gets over his injury, Moss would have to be ranked second.

Id quite like to see gleeson given a game... the games he played in the MLS he was all class ( think he evan won some toss pot american award like save of the week twice) and the MLS is alot better than the a league, why not throw some proven young blood in whilst where playing the likes of Kosta etc...

Yeah if we're pulling Gleeson into the side he needs at least 45 mins.

I think it is a positive for the future that lots of senior older guys are out for this game. It gives some of the new guys like Wee mac, Kosta, Rojas Boxall etc a chance to see how they they stand up in an intense tough match......coz this is what it will be. Australian/NZ is never a friendly. Both sides will be giving it all.
In some ways Auistralia is in the same boat as us. They have lots of senior guys who won't be at the next WC. This is rebuilding time. If you are a young player now is the time to put your hand up and say " I'm good enough".
It would be great to beat Australia but I will be more pleased if a number of the new guys look like they can do the business at this level.
These games are the start of the campaign for the next WC.

Moss didn't have a shocker against Mexico. The defense was shocking. Yes Moss could of done a better job of parrying the ball away on a few occasions.  But by no means did he have a shocker.

This game should be very interesting, with the inclusion of so many youngsters, which I think is great. In an article on stuff about Rojas joining the squad they said Ricki is likely to have Wood, Killen, Smeltz with Kosta in behind. Has the starting 11 even been released or is it purely speculation?

A few of the Aussie media have had a go at guessing their lineup. Osieck is pretty evasive.

Could be something like...

Coe
Williams-Spiranovic-McKain-Zullo
Emerton-Kilkenny-Valeri-Troisi
Holman-Kennedy

Would be confident of an upset if it were Nelsen and Smth rather than Boxall and Boyens at the back

Scratch that last comment, I just saw this from the other thread.Reid - groin - doubtful
Elliott - hammy - definitely out
Henderson - not recovered - heading home
Vicelich - sister's wedding on Saturday - not going to Aussie

Elliot just came off the bench for Chivas USA against Portland, turns out he isn't injured after all.
