So, I am coming up. Pretty likely anyway. Though I had to change my plans cause friends weren't keen. I may or may not need transfers to and from the game. As the relatives I am staying with almost certainly won't be going to the game. I know there is free bus travel, but I have no idea where this goes through. If anyone is happy to maybe give me a lift to and/or from the stadium before and after the game let me know. I might not need the help but it would be awesome. Thanks.

If you rellies live on Seaview Road, Glenfield thats not far from me. Happy to offer a ride if you still need one. PM me. Cheers.

Ah yes, the "other" side of Glenfield.

Three for me, and two for them.

This game is up against Ranfurly sheild challenge between Southland and Canterbury. Might be a hard choice for viewers.

Both games on SS2. No build up, but could be post match coverage.
zero excuse for not having build up. sky, that is lame. and i have seen no mention of the games on Sky yet. Grrr

NZF need to make sure it happens. They are shooting themselves in the foot if they don't.

These games are way under hyped IMO. NZF need to get moving and spend some money on advertising this. No wonder the tickets aren't selling. Have not seen one poster in town, have not heard any radio ads, barely any tv ads. They are relying on the world cup performances alone to drag crowds in, the WC band wagoners have probably forgotten the All Whites.

Look at the AFL final ffs, look at how many people here in NZ all of a sudden care about AFL when the final comes round - it's purely because of the MASSIVE hype and build up.

I don't care if it's over-hyped, it just needs to be plastered everywhere so that it's not possible that people in NZ don't know it's on or when it's on.

Little rant for you all.TopLeft072010-09-30 21:17:49

Kick off is 7.30pm isn't it?  Super unhappy as I finish work at 8.30!  Can't just watch the second half so will have to wait until the game's over and watch it recorded.

I hope they bring crap squad. no Honduras player has a big enough profile to make a difference to public interest in the game, so they might as well be weak so we can get a win.

Good point. Could say the same about Paraguay too.

I'd agree but in the case of Paraguay I'd want to see Roque Santa Cruz as he's a great player and I think he's big enough that a fair few Kiwis know of him.

So each squad should largely be weak but a few established players so that when people read up on the opposition they'd be tempted to come along to see some accomplished players and there's a greater chance of an NZ victory.

I had a terrible dream last night that I was watching this game on TV and remembered to my horror that I'd bought a ticket and I should be there. Hopefully not a premonition. I don't usually forget football games, although the last Nix game I'd like to.

Ramming liberal dribble down your throat since 2009

Agreed, most people I talk to don't even realise that it's on this weekend. So frustrating, RELEASE THE HOUNDS NZF!! And by hounds I mean the promotional plan, if there is one.

I think NZF have gambled on the marketing spend. They spent a fair bit pre Bahrain and in the end they didnt need to bc the media hype sold the game out easy. So, this time my guess is they decided not to spend too much on marketing. Mistake.
This time around the media is far less interested. all the main media players are focusing on the Comm Games. Just like they did with the World CUp, where they invest resource and journalists is where they will generate stories. Plus bc these games are "friendlies" they are not creating the same sense of expectation.
It is getting late now, but a signif rush of sales still possible. it will depend how much the media gets excited about the arrival of Nelsen, Reid etc. The earlier they get here the better. When Elliottt arrived NZF obviously threw him in front of the media and we got stories in all the weekend newspapers. And if we can play alright and score a couple of goals against Honduras that will help the welly crowd.

That game is played first. I notice the thread for the next game vs Heart is bigger than the one vs Adeleide 5 days after it

This. There's hardly any point talking about Tuesday when we've got Saturday to worry about first.
This game better not suck, my reasons for not being in Auckland that weekend are increasing but I'm not cancelling for the world
