Not to start the Paston vs Moss debate again, and not withstanding Rickis comments about the starting team being the one at the WC.

Given Paston has been on the bench while Moss has been playing, I think Moss should be in goal.

hmm probably the reason, isn't it part of Auckland though? Still would have thought it would include the greater region for events.

FFS, I've lived on the Shore my whole life and as far as I'm concerned we're Auckland. Always have been!

On a different note. Heres the weather forecast for Saturday according to metservice.

When does Honduras arrive? This is the highest ranked side to come to NZ since god knows when. I reckon we can do the goods and win this and stay in the top 50. So I am seriously not worried about the crowd turning up. A work mate says his tickets from Tuesday afternoon had , PAX of 11500. Remember the monumental stuff up with Auckland at North Harbour when there was a walk up of 8,000 at the gate. The folks in the office are only just talking of buying their tickets now.

And that's probably one of the reasons that Auckland can't get behind anything properly, parts of Auckland blaming the other parts. It's completely stupid, the Auckland REGION goes from Pakiri in the North down to Port Waikato in the south (roughly), so if you're in there then call yourself an Aucklander and stop whinging, we're all one city now so it's time to accept it and embrace it.

Same in my office. A lot of people I've spoken to who aren't what you would call football-spotters never paid much attention to when the game is being played and are now seriously considering about heading along.

I think/hope we will see a surge in ticket sales from now until kick off. Doubt we'll get to 20k though unfortunately.

That's because you don't pay your fair share for regional amenities, yet. The rich areas saying "screw you guys" to the rest of the region is really what's held Auckland back. And if you don't like it, I'm more than happy to dynamite the Harbour Bridge and dismantle the busway we built.

Well, if Shore types would agree never to come south of the Waitemata for work, sport, education, arts, culture, movies, etc, then sure, not only toll booths but machine gun nests on the Bridge would be okay. :D

NHpeter: as far as I'm concerned, I'm a citizen of the People's Republic of Grey Lynn/Ponsonby, but I think our "hood" will have more independence and identity under the SuperCity than it does currently lumped into "Auckland City" with the likes of Otahuhu and St Heliers. Similarly, "the Shore" is hardly homogenous: ask someone from Devonport whether they think they have anything in common with Glenfield or Albany.

The free buses from the CBD start running at 5:30, so I can be there from 6 pm onwards.

Doloras- you're guna need some cooking oil- cos you've got a chip on your shoulder! reckon the auckland region civil war is a bit off topic.....besides Albany's got dreamy donughts and they get the thumbs up from someone who matters so...plus Williams wanted to clock John Banks- that woulda been impressive!

actually keen for the All Whites and the Shore- redemption time for the North Harbour Stadium for me! First game there was the Knights and Melbourne...first and last Knights game I attended, and Salley got injured.

Most of the media went to a morning training session at the school, so hopefully there will be some coverage on the news tonight. I went to the afternoon one - I was the guy with the flip camera filming the training. Also interviewed Ricki and Ryan. I should have the footage up on nzherald.co.nz some point tomorrow. Good fun!
