Crowd Size?

Away result important but I think the people who are going to come have already made up their mind and barring a thumping the #s should stack up.
Even if we are a goal or two down, we will be forced to have a go and with Smeltz, Killen, Fallon we will see attacking football.
Referee? Wont be from Asia or Oceania, possibly European which should help us.
Ticket Price set so that the stadium will be filled with football people rather than the prawn sandwich brigade that normally turn up to these one off events.

My brother is telling me not to stress out about buying tickets for the game (he knows because according to him he goes to all the Phoenix games and the stadium is always empty so you can sit wherever the hell you want).

Didn't know Ryan Nelsen plays for the Phoenix  (well I hope he does in a few years time, but not right now)

All Blacks test are always easy to get tickets for on the day because the Lions games are half empty too right?

I have my eight tickets (but no travel involved so hardly somethig to crow about), and have spent all weekend having beer and cajoling people to come to the game. I plan to round up 20 or so if I can.  A fair bit will depend on Oct 10.

That is a good point, I highly doubt competing for a place in the World Cup will add many bums on seats.
You know we belong together...

Hopefully we can put up a good performance on Oct 10 in Bahrain. A draw or a win will help get people in for the game in november.
Although Ive already got my tickets!!!!! Looking forward to it!

hellobeaver what was the charge for a booking of 30 and which section were you placed in? I can't seem to get seats at halfway on the website?

Permalink Permalink
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Should be a single charge for that one booking I'd have imagined.

ahmad - it is my understanding that all large blocks of covered seats on halfway facing the cameras (the harbour side) have all been sold, no idea about uncovered, but suspect those have gone as well. I had difficulties trying to get near halfway with just six people, on the day they went on general sale.

You're best off visiting a ticketek outlet in person and trying to work out your seats that way.

100,000 in Singapore vs China, 1981.

Three for me, and two for them.

Think they got around 30,000 for any number of WC Qualifying matches held at Mt Smart in 1981. Not sure which single game had the most.

Will be rather sad if we don't beat that.

Then again, i no everyone hates the All Blacks at the moment, but not quite Springbok tour kinda hate.

10k is pretty decent for now. There will be a lot more hype if we do well in the first leg and in the time to the lead up of the game.

That's good - a full stadium, an AW win and into the WC, lots of (white) noise. Footy-tastic and hopefully will draw more to the remaining Nix games.

Kuwait felt like the biggest, then the 1-0 against China.
I reckon the Phoenix should do a piggyback deal with the AWs night, so the 30,000 All Whites fans come to the next Phoenix game.

That is a good idea. It worked quite well when the Galaxy came and about 18,000 or so showed up to watch the Adelaide match. The only thing is the Phoenix game is not until the next week so out of town visitors would not be able to stay around.

I just tried the ticketek site to see how many tickets I could get in a row in the Whilte Noise zone.

The most it would let me have was 2, so must be getting pretty full.  No problem getting 8 outside the zone.

Give them a call Mr. Jolly.  They have the next aisle over to expand the zone into so call them and they might be able to sort it for you.

It's going to be very very noisy in the Zone.

Hopefully they will expand it, word is the 'White Noise' has been quite full for some time. In fact, here's my mates exact words from an email sent on Sep the 2nd:
"by the time I went into Ticketek today, aisle 21 was basically sold out. In fact, I think I got the last tickets in the aisle that were more than just a single seat. I need to be more organised in teh future."

I'm sorted for the zone myself but the more the merrier. Hopefully they haven't filled the neighboring Aisles with people who want to watch the zone. No offense if you are one of those people and reading this but I'm obviously more interested in people who want to join it.joachim2009-09-29 19:17:02

Assuming that is accurate, just over 12,000.

Any hard news on whether there is buses combo action for the Wgton match beforehand?  And other fun stuff in Wgton over the wknd?  A month to go and trying to sort out a plan of sight seeing/things to do while in the city.

Buzzcocks on Friday night.
Team Wellington on Saturday afternoon.
All Whites on Saturday night.
What else could you possibly need to know?

Never mind the Buzzcocks, is there buses from game to game on the Satdy? Are there like places to be like in the city centre (thinking along the lines of World Cup street events) pre and post match.  Just thinking ahead that's all.  Limited time in the city inall.

At this stage from somettime AM (don't have the schedule with me) there is Aotearoa Street Football and NZ Freestyle Football (featuring reigning Fever and now Australian champion Graeson Cooper) in the central city.

If our plans come together there will be buses from there to Newtown to catch Yellow Fever TeeDubs in action and buses back to the Backbencher.
