Fantastic for player development.  I'm sure Tom has spent the winter scouring the country for the next crop, and what better event to get some of our up and comers on the field.   The NWL has already shown up some crackers - Chloe Knott, Nicola Dominikovich to name just a couple. Plus those from the U20s - Kelly Brown, Gabi Rennie & co.  Let's get them out there in the white jersey - perfect opportunity!

Be brave, Tom.

Not sure he'll be so brave as to pick a Canadian national.

I've heard she's eligible..

Hmm.

Dad was born in NZ if that helps, top sprinter in his day.

So I've learnt this afternoon. Whoops.

Couple of new faces (Claudia Bunge, Lily Alfield & Jana Radosavljevic)

heartbreak for Mickey Robertson who was due to be called up  but suffered an injury against WaiBOP last week so had to withdraw

We will be the weakest team there. Wish our mens team could get exposure to the best teams like this tournament for the womens team. This is going to be tough.

RIP

The name Football Ferns sounds pretty cheap for our National Womens Football team, why not just call them the All Ferns?

I actually prefer Football Ferns to All Whites. I know the men's team nickname started way back, but I always hated how it somehow brought the All Blacks to mind, who...you know...are the best rugby team in the world, while we're at best average.

Would love for us to have a completely different nickname

especially given we often wear our all black kit.

Hard to blame her really isn't it? If you've got that option it would be dumb to play for NZ. All power to her, hope she does well.

Hard to complain really (get it) when the FFs captain was born & raised in the States (Kiwi dad).

Swings and roundabouts.

AWs esp have had plenty of players come the other way.

So nothing vaguely radical there?
is van der Meer a good prospect?
