On Tuesday ,thanks to my next door neighbour ,  Jeremy paid a visit to my little man's school.Apparently mobbed by kids.My boy knew in advance so wore his All White shirt to get it signed.Somehow the wrong name was written on it with out even a signature.Jeremy was apparently quite apologetic   and said he'd get my boy a training shirt to make up for it.Wasn't sure if that would happen and was quite nervous about it- it was this promise that stopped my son from being upset over his shirt.Got home from work yesterday and on the porch , as promised , was not just a training shirt but what looks like one of Jeremy's playing  shirts , name and no. 22 on the back with a lovely note on the front, signed as promised . The look on my wee boy's face when I gave it to him was priceless.SO , Jeremy , that was a very cool thing you did and my son is now your biggest fan.On behalf of us both ,

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

He really is a top lad.  And so's his old man.  Good Nelson stock.

That is a nice story, your son would be stoked. I went to school with Jeremy, so he's always been a legend to me, and probably anyone from Nelson. But of late, his performances have been sensational, and I would easily play him ahead of Lochhead and possibly Bertos. Has the potential to be a real star in the A-League.

Not only will my boy not take the shirt off ( he's worn it to school everyday since he got it and would sleep in it if he could), when we got home from the game tonight he went straight to the computer to see how the Jets ( and Jeremy) got on.We're both still buzzing about the whole thing.
Comment made above about football players being generous. I work occasionally with Marco Roja's aunty. When the world cup was on , she invited us to meet Marco at his flat. We went along , Marco was incredibly nice to an awestruck 8 year old , answered all his questions with grace ( there were a lot of them!)  took his Phoenix shirt and got it signed by the whole squad. So these 2 shirts are his prize possessions. This might not mean a lot to some ,but for an 8 year old who lives for football , to be treated so well by Jeremy and Marco was very very special.

Marco is a very approachable young man. I hope he continues to develop for the Phoenix and of course for himself. Excellent reading in this thread.
