when he was playing for hibs, cardiff came looking for him halfway through the season, but he was injured. So they waited till the end of the year and celtic beat them again. Do you think they'll come looking for him a third time when he is fit again???

The Phoenix couldn't afford Killen.
Rumour was he was on 6 thousand pounds a week at Oldham a few seasons back prior to his move to Hibs. During the four seasons at Oldham he was out injured 75% of the time - a luxury perhaps only the big four in the Premiership could afford.

Heres 10 things Killen cant do that Brockie can.
1)Score gaols!.
2)Be in the starting XI for club football.
3)Take free kicks.
4)holdup the ball.
5)Deadball run/play.
6)Cross a ball.(OMG how basic)
7)Run at defenders.
8)Make a run of play.
9)Dribble the ball.
10)Assist/pass.
Only thing i give credit to Killen is = He gets payed to lay around playing Nintendo Wii. It would be almost like being on the dole. (people in Wellington know what that means)convict2008-10-31 03:39:22

Convict, you're making these statements here and on the 4-4-2 message boards. You've also said there that you don't even live in NZ ao I'm unsure how you could even have any idea. Can you please attempt to explain what you are getting at here.

Im a Kiwi from Wellington, fly in to watch the nixs ever now and then. As for my statment it remains true, 1 father was chucked out of the CakeTin for following the fat guy with the camera- Hes kid was left alone sitting there for 40min with no adult because the security kicked him out, The guy with the camera - the same guy you stuck up for "Taking photos of trouble makers" took snaps of his child (still not really known as the guy refuse to respond to the father) and other kids.
So where is the justice in that? Where are the photos? Why where they really taken? This is just one of the many issues from Yellowfevers governing gurus.
Have you bothered to ask for a complaint list? from Tony P.
So please stop playing dumb. How about saying sorry for sticking a camera in peoples faces without consent and for the father that had to beg the big security guys to go get his son due to YF governing system.
Back onto the subject, Killen just cant hold a ball-up.
has no creative fair- Yet he would be the type of player to score the winning goal to send the AW`s through to the WC. (is that two faced or what)

The issues are as follows.
1, You have referred in other places to the fat Fever Admin. Well the only Fever administrator who is fat is News, and he has never taken a camera to a Phoenix match.
2, How is this Yellow Fevers issue ? If this occurred then one individual was involved. That is like saying that because AusKiwi has a rampant and burning hatred for Ricki Herbert that is everyone on here's fault. The Fever provides a focal point for support, no more, no less. If this event went down as you describe it then it is an issue between those concerned, security and the club.
3, I can guarantee you that no member of the Fever administration (listed on the About YF tab at the top) have any knowledge of what you are talking about. To go on Australian forums and claim that people do is quite frankly offensive. You seem to have your individuals and infomation wrong. You have a look at that list on 'about YF' and tell us which of those people were involved.
If people have a provable concern and you appear to know the full story then take it to the authorities. To land this at the feet of the people who run the Fever and allege a general Fever involvement is entirely unfair and inaccurate.

If Chris Killen is the type of player to score the winning goal to send the AW's through to the WC as you say, I would have thought that a very good reason for him to be in the team. Just a thought.

Killen is a pretty darn good player as is Brockie. Compare their performances at the Olympics...
One of them stood out for me and the other one didn't look like they offered much at all.

That makes no diffrence at all. Its like saying Pick Killen over Smeltz, Smeltz and Brockie have scored and preformed well on the international stage as well as local scene recently, what has Killen done?

Um...."Convict", you seem to spurt a lot of stuff without knowing the facts- only reason Killen isn't appearing for Celtic Reserves is because he underwent surgery on his knee in September- few players on crutches can get a game with Celtic reserves as far as I know!
Admittedly Killen is rather injury-prone- yet he appeared for Celtic reserves whenever fit last year and I have a feeling he may have been their top-scorer. Anyway he scored a few hat-tricks for them. He also played in a few league and cup games- and notably in the Champions League against Barcelona at Celtic Park where his cross after coming on as a sub lead to McDonald's goal.
As a South Islander who has followed Jeremy Brockie's career since he was a raw teenager at Nelson Suburbs, I can only comment that goal-scoring was never one of his strong points. In his first season with Canterbury United in the NZFC a few years ago prior to signing for the NZ Knights, he struggled all season to score one goal. A misleading impression was created by the fact he scored two goals on debut for the struggling Knights- but that was more- or- less a fluke and his subsequent teams such as Sydney have discovered since that he's never going to be a regular goal-scorer. (Some Christchurch football pundits also suggested when he played here that he didn't know how to dribble either).
He does have other attributes such as pace however and can cross a ball- the Phoenix probably haven't signed Brockie because they don't need two Leo Bertos's (another player who will never score many goals).
Michael White, last spotted playing in the League of Wales, was always more of a goal-scorer than Brockie when playing for Nelson or Canterbury.

When White and Brockie were playing for Nelson,Brockie was a attacking midfielder that could score goals.White was allways a striker. I think White has left Rhyl FC in Wales but I don't know where he's moved to

Killen had knee surgery for a bit of bone that was in there.
He has been out for over a month.
On a side note, he isn't really good enough for Celtic and is quite far down the pecking order.
Hes scored some nice goals for the reserves he reached over double digits heh.
