Brilliant performance by our goalie Sail - world class!
Brazil had most of the chances and it was luck and good goalkeeping we didn't concede a few.
But we created a few chances and as the second half went on, the Brazilians got frustrated at all their misses.
Yeah, seems you get five minutes free on the CCTV website (but just keep on changing server using Hola to get another 5 mins) and you have to subscribe to watch the full game.
Would be good to find another free stream which is continuous for the Croatia game Sunday 7 pm

As you say, draws in the 2010 World Cup the top results of all time because of the importance of the tournament and the calibre of opposition.
Other than that, don't forget:
- the All Whites 4-0 win over Mexico in 1980 in a friendly
- the 1-0 win on neutral soil vs. Serbia (then ranked 10 in the world) in a pre-World Cup friendly in 2010
- "best" in terms of importance and excitement factor must also include the key 1981- 82 World Cup qualifiers such as vs. Saudi Arabia 5-0 away win to insure the play-off vs. China, and the play-off win vs.China itself.
- For the same reasons, the Victory over Bahrain in 2009 over two legs - no one was realistically expecting us to make the Finals at the outset of the campaign, not even dedicated fans.
- NZ are one of a select group of countries to score three goals in a game against Italy (and even those major nations have only managed the feat a handful of times):
I personally really enjoyed the 4-3 loss to Italy in a friendly in South Africa before the 2009 Confederations Cup. The only time apart from the 1980 Mexico win we've scored a lot of goals against a major side. Few national sides have ever scored three goals against Italy -mostly only the major sides. Argentina have never scored more than two goals against Italy in 14 meetings. Germany has once in 32 games (in 1939). France have once since 1927. The USSR with the largest population in Europe, never managed more than two goals against Italy in 11 meetings. Netherlands have twice in 18 meetings but only once since 1974. England have four times in 24 meetings, but only twice since 1948 and not at all since 1976. Scotland have never managed more than one goal against Italy in ten meetings. Brazil have five times but hey, that's Brazil...
Italy: average goals against in their history: 0.98
Italy: goals conceded to NZ in their history = 4 in two games (average two a game)

And just think if Winston and Tommy were playing for NZ in that game, we would probably have won!
Well done U20 boys, can;t wait to see you in NZ next year.
(I cant wait for the day our senior men's team finally beats Brazil, Spain, Argentina, England, France, Germany and Italy (unlike twice with the last one). Glad I was at the Serbia game)

Penalty practice STARTS NOW! By June 2015 we'll be ready - six 0-0 draws plus winning penalty shootouts and NEW ZEALAND will be WORLD CHAMPIONS!
You heard it here first.

I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...

Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land..."

Found some highlights from the China v NZ game: http://video.sina.com.cn/p/sports/n/v/2014-06-04/181463995561.html
Should have hit the net, the keeper certainly gave him a good look in trying to cover the square ball to Ridenton.
Would have liked to have seen NZ's disallowed goal in the highlights to see if it was a fair call.
1-0 vs Serbia is better.
What about the 2-2 v Uruguay away in about 1995? Seems to be a forgotten game that one..."Self-defence is an art I cultivate"

Appreciate this does not have a ot riding on it but apart from our one all draw against Italy, is this the best result ever by a national team? (being a bit sexist here and not counting the women)1-0 vs Serbia is better.

Another good result: In 1991 England only scraped a 1-0 win in Auckland in injury time (there were 10 mins injury time) with a Gary Lineker goal. Most of the NZ side were amateurs. Ceri Evans and Fred de Jong the only UEFA based pros. Most were playing for NZ clubs (except a couple at Aussie NSL clubs like Robbie Ironside). Matthew Ridenton's dad Mike played.
Well I for one wouldn't put this in the list of NZ's greatest games. NZ put everyone behind the ball for 90mins and occasionally hoofed it up to De Jong's head. An awful game to watch and NZ arguably got what they deserved by conceding a goal in the 90+ mins. The PERFORMANCES in these other games(Italy, Serbia, Uruguay) were much much better.
