@luke_rowe16
always hear about people geting told their not good enough and then going on and making a name for them self hope im one of them #selfbelief
heck. i'm sure he will. si elliott never played for an age group nz side

Reg, pretty sure he did. And despite it not featuring on wiki I am confident he scored the winner for a nz age group side against Australia, just can't recall which age group. It was at an Oceania tournament held in aust and I think despite that win we blew out somehow.

Don't think so. No U23 tournaments as far as i'm aware.

"The round-robin group stage will be followed by a straight final, with the eventual winner going on to play number one seed the Football Ferns in a home-and-away play-off scheduled for 31 March and 4 April."

That tourney is in Tonga

Starting XI for #OlyWhites: Keane (GK), Prattley, Eagar (c), Galbraith, Lucas, Fenton, Feneridis, Musa, Hicks, McGeorge, Thomas

Half time now.  no more goals conceeded.  Raul Blanco not looking too enthusiastic.  Seems to be a fair few saudi fans there.

The stream is just playing highlights of other games with funky music, is that what you are getting George?

It looks to be a bit choppy, is this just the halftime or has the whole game been like it as well?

The feed has been pretty good throughout, commentators speaking arabic but you get the odd mention of a NZ players name.  Half time should be over soon.  Must say i'm not enjoying the techno tunes

Keeper should have caught that.

EDIT: Maybe I was a bit harsh. Probably should have stayed in the goal rather than coming out.patrick4782012-02-20 22:58:06

How we looking? Stream don't work..

We are actually looking fairly competitive. Have been defending well, havent been able to get the ball forward through the midfield into attack very much at all though.

What game were you watching? We were chasing shadows and unable to play football.

I think one of Vicelich and Nelson will play...experience at the back! Who else would you play there? Reid Hogg and Smith are dead certs. Cant think who else could slot in?

Where are the Saudi's ranked?

Saudis are ranked 89 in the world and 9th best in Asia. (Australia 22 and #1 in Asia)

What was the final score in this game and can anyone describe what happened?

3-0 saudi

Next game against the Saudis now re-scheduled for Friday instead of Thursday-
meaning Vicelich and Mulligan are no longer available:

"The sides meet again on Friday night, a day later than originally scheduled. All Whites Cole Peverley and Aaron Clapham bolster the squad under the New Zealand A moniker although the rescheduling of the match has prevented Auckland City pair Ivan Vicelich and David Mulligan from linking with the squad as well."

really pissed off that I didnt see much advertising on the net for the match the other day.  had no idea it was on.  Really wanted to go.  Cant wait to be back at Lakeside Stadium.  One thing though, Rhys keane on the 3rd goal.  lol!  Thats all I can say.

Are then any other outside chances to make the squad.

Big fan of that Bill Tuiloma kid at RB and having just read he's got a contract at Burnley, reinforces my belief that he has a lot of potential and talent.

Afterall RB is our weakest area.

The ref is a w**ker. Just sent one of our players off (number 7) for a tackle no worse than one that a Saudi player made minutes before.
