Link same as last time. just need a windows player pluggin.

2-0 Saudi 24 mins.

since the two goals, saudi has had another 5 chances.

NZ not looking good. and the commentator is praising Allah every 5 mins. I think we should be looking to the skys too if we want to get something out of this.

If we build it, they will come...

saudi also seem to be attacking down the right flank. does that mean they see a weakness there for us? cant quite pick who is playing where. the video screen is a little small.

If we build it, they will come...

3-0 freekick from the right flank.  a place you should not score from directly...goal.

straight in behind the wall and the goalie.

possession is all saudi in and around our box.

If we build it, they will come...

This is going to be bad.  I didn't see any of the goals as just tuned in now.  Basalaj in goal.

18-Adam THOMAS.
Off:
8-Ethan GALBRAITH
Number 21.

A nz attack.

Fenton won the ball on halfway and pushed the ball through for Lucas. but covering defence pushed him wide and cross was deflected to safety.

If we build it, they will come...

Ok Stream stopped. so think it is halftime. 3-0.

At the end of the day, Saudi are a class opposition for us. The All Whites would struggle against them too.

I am guessing this more like our NZ 3rd XI. So is def a good game and experience for these guys to get.

It should be a bit of a trial for a-league clubs too. but so far i dont think any of our players are making the most of that carrot.

Not helped by having a man down for 80+ minutes.  Is Clapham playing?  who are the other 2 over age players?

Would like to see how we'd match up against Saudi.

I think i saw Clapham's ginga running around like a headless chicken somewhere amongst the other headless chickens in white.

i think it was only Clapham and Peverly. Vic$lich and Mulligan had hair appointments back in Auckland.

If we build it, they will come...

I'm using Opera browser on PC. Presuming it works similar on other systems, left-click in the video, then right-click and use Zoom and you may be able to adjust the video screen size... but even at 'full-screen' it only appears to use ~2/3 area of my screen.

Sorry think Galbraith is still on. must of had two number 8's. Galbraith is the big lanky guy who is a slower version of Wood but cant quite beat a player right?

I wouldn't get too carried away by this - our under 23's are losing a friendly game to a full international team, when we have played all but about 10 mins with 10 men.

Or maybe I have most of that statement wrong

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

agree. And the Saudi's look like they move the ball really well in a way that most of our players will never have come up against. Disappointing result, but I think you have put it into the proper context.

I did not see either of the sendings off (sp?) but read here that the first may have been a bit soft? Not sure about the 2 yellows?

Possibly good experience at playing a player down- it seems to happen reasonably often, especially at age-group level, with a rush of blood to the head

May have atleast helped Emblem to confirm some places... obviously this and the final team we select will look quite different with Reid / Wood / Rojas etc to come in.

Am quite excited about the team in general though and the Olympics... can see us doing quite well (draw depending)

Can't see how any game like that could be pointless. What it will show is that there are some players that are not ready, some that will never be ready and perhaps some that are ready.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

We have to qualify first.  We could very well stuff it up.

Seems Jason Hayne and Cole Tinkler were playing as well as Clapham and Peverley:

NZ U23s hit for six by Saudis

Auckland - New Zealand's U-23 footballers endured a night that could best be described as character building, as part of a nine-man New Zealand 'A' side that lost 6-0 to the Saudi Arabia National Team in Melbourne on Friday night.

After restricting the Saudis - down under to meet Australia in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Wednesday night - to three goals on Monday night, the addition of four overage players to the U-23 side was expected to help bridge the gap.

But the presence of Cole Peverley, Aaron Clapham, Jason Hayne and Cole Tinkler was never able to be fully leveraged once the side was reduced to 10 men after just 7 minutes.

Michael Eagar went hard and late in on a tackle, catching more leg than ball, but the quick dismissal still seemed a harsh punishment for the team Wellington midfielder.

Undermanned in defence New Zealand 'A' conceded twice in three minutes to be 0-2 behind after little more than 15 minutes, and while early substitute James Musa helped strengthen the back line, the Saudis netted again to be 3-0 ahead at the break.

Playing a full national team preparing for a do-or-die World Cup qualifier was always going to be a tough ask for the primarily locally sourced U-23 squad but with ten men it was largely one way traffic.

The deficit stretched to four nine minutes into the second half and a quick fire pair of yellow cards to Andrew Milne reduced the Kiwis to nine men for the final 24 minutes in which the Saudis added two more goals for good measure.

The New Zealand U-23s begin their Road to London at the Oceania Olympic Qualifiers in Taupo from March 16-24

Highlights of the first game lost 3-0: poor goalkeeping on that third Saudi goal, lame attempt at intercepting corner. By the way, what does goalie Rhys Keane have tattooed on his neck? Anything embarrassing?

Highlights of the second game vs NZ "A":
First two goals look soft (not coping with the Saudi's pace or picking them up at all); Third goal a very good free kick; Fourth goal looks embarrassing for Basalaj- between his legs; fifth goal also well-taken.

NZF forgot to fax the squad list through, so we've been disqualified.

Allegedly

I think they left the notification for the lads to play in Oz almost that late.
