2.30pm Kick Off tomorrow. Hopefully they get a decent crowd.
Unfortunate timing somewhat with Womens Rugby World Cup final kicking off at 4.30pm.

Piecing everything here together, the Niche Cache endorsed XI for the first game against South Korea would look something like this...
Esson | Bowen, Moore, Bunge, A.Green (either will do) | Steinmetz, Hassett | Chance | Hand, Jale, Satchell
But the actual team is probably going to more resemble this lot...
Esson | Bowen, Moore, Bunge, Anton | I.Riley, Steinmetz, Hassett, Chance | Jale, Satchell
While we’re at it, this was the team that started in the 2-0 win over South Korea a year ago...
Esson | Bott, Moore, Bowen, Ward | Cleverley, Percival, Hassett | Chance, Collins, Hand

Fantastic intensity, pressure and will to work shots at the goal in the last 15-20 minutes - just a shame we hardly saw anything for the first 70!

Korean girls deserved the win today - a lot to work on for the Ferns 😒

thought we were alittle defensively minded in the first 30, we did well enough to keep the koreans at bay but once that goal went in we looked sunk. did really test them until the last 10 and by then it was done and duster=d, korea had 5 at the back which made it impossible to strike through the middle. On another day Chance scores all 3 opportunities she had - but today and recently we've had no killer instict infront of goal.Hope they come back ready to score next game - also hope Rolliston is ok.

At the game today. Meikayla Moore looked like a CB playing RB. Had a tough game at times. Needed to trust herself and release the pass a bit quicker.
Few times players were on their heels, allowing the Korean player to get in front and win the ball.
Some willing runners, but need more than the pace of Satchell in behind.
Like the idea of playing quickly, but if it slows down at RB or LB, or our midfielders play the 1st pass backwards, it's mostly for nothing. Be positive and look forwards.
Saying that was impressed with Malia Steinmetz, did better than Daisy Cleverley.
Vic Esson is a top quality keeper and I thought Katie Bowen was the best performer for me. Her 1 touch options were quality and her talking and communication was top notch.
Things to work on, tough games against USA to do it too, so Tuesday evening is important to try things against a team we can compete with

Very dry. I'd much prefer Pine for this.

If Satchel had a decent touch on her she'd be bloody dangerous.

Completely forgot this was on today. Only started watching around the 30 min mark but seen the goal, good job Chance, though Rennie should've passed to Satchell for a tap-in.

Hang in there girls and let's try for another goal.

Esson's penalty save ensured we didn't suffer two straight defeats, Unfortunately now we're going to get absolutely smashed by the US in Wellington and Auckland. Managing to score a goal against them is a massive achievement on it's own.

Norway and Switzerland are really gonna be scared seeing us limp to a fortunate draw at home against a Korean side that went 0-0-3 at the 2019 edition.

Just like the All Blacks, we are holding most of our plays back!

The lack of fullbacks getting forward to contribute seems to be a gap we could do something about. The Nix women's team last season used their fullbacks quite well.

I don't want to be all doom and gloom but honestly I can see us going 1-0-2, with the 1 hopefully being the Philippines, and that's not going to get us very far. We may be able to pull off a draw against Switzerland, though I'm not holding my breath.

Kirsty Yallop was great, thought she added some great insight and talked very confidently.

Funny what happens when you put 4 friggin centrebacks in the backline...

I have no faith in the coach. She says she wants to see us scoring goals but then picks a midfield that can't pass!

We can only hope the girls get some good coaching at the NIX and transfer it over to the Ferns.

Been saying it from almost day 1 - can't believe the coach got a 5 year contract. No signs of improvement IMO.

Instead of capitalising on the World Cup being here, we look like we are trying to kill the game.

Uninspired and ineffective.
