that idiot who posted criticising the kingz/knight fans should bugr
off. i'm getting sick of the negative coverage that these
football pioneers have copped of late. we don't know how
lucky we have it down here; nice stadium, well run club, we're
appreciated by management etc. bloc 5 and the others had none
of this and stood by the team in any case
There is a better spirit here than there was at the Kingz, and
that is attributable to everyone from top to bottom. I'm sure that
spirit would see us throught hard times.
We should respect the "pioneers" sure and acknowledge the
Aukland experiments, but we are Wellington not Auckland, and a bit
of inter-city ribbing is always going to happen, is good for
football. Roll on the day when Auckland has a team again so we can
have a derby and get really antagonistic

See bagging Auckland is one thing, it's bagging those that stood by
the shambles for 7 years that is the issue.
Call the Auckland public t**sers, and lazy and blame them for killing the Kingz and Knights. But many of the fans that stood by them (and many didn't live in Auckland) went beyond the cause to support one disaster after another.

cancelled pathetic,the government has just cost nz soccer 200
grand,lets hope we can get some compensation

You can't possibly blame FIFA for this. Fiji left it to the last
minute to apply for visas and NZ turned one down. If you're
Fiji, you are not going to want to play without your keeper are
you? The fans may well be losing out, but it would have been hardly
fair for Fiji to play on.
I'd be very surprised if FIFA had actually told Winston
Peters that it would be okay. So far, I have not seen anyone but
Peters make that claim.
If, as has been said elsewhere on this forum, NZ made an
exception for the Fijian Sevens team then all else being equal, NZ
are applying double standards.
I don't mean to be rude mate but Fijians need to apply well in
advance for a Visa to come to NZ if they don' t play a version of
Rugby or Netball. Remember that the game in Auckland was only
scheduled quite recently.

Except Peters is not Labour. He would have gone with National
in a coalition just as quickly.
I hate coalition governments - you vote for party X and they
are forced to bring in party Y (who you didn't vote for) to make
the numbers work for a government.
