By the way. NZ vs Paruguay will be on at the same time as Italy vs Slovakia.

Does anyone have any idea how the bars might show them from past experience? ie will the big screens be showing the NZ game and couple of the tv's have the italy slovakia game.

Four Kings! Over 70 screens, but I am guessing you are down south? What would be ideal for entertainment purposes is if we are drawing with 10 to go and Slovakia are up by a goal or even scores level. You would be just as engaged in watching the other screen.

Na mate up in aux.

Haha 70 screens you serious? is that even possible in one bar

Haha yeah mate, goes down well. It is double story so you have a restaurant upstairs and that is packed with screens too. Then the bar downstairs has individual booths with a few screens each then above the bar is loaded with screens. But the main drawcard is a wall full of screens above about a dozen lazy boys. I am saying this and I dont even work for kings! Did not go for the first game but went for the Italian game, slightly disappointed with the atmosphere but I had high expectations after the 'Nix away game v Sydney. 2am monday morning obviously more appealing to stay at home but hopefully a decent crown for the Paraguay game. The chants and noise make it and really enjoyed that Phoenix away final at kings. Chanting in a pub - the next best thing from actually being there.

Sound a bit like the Holy Grail in Chch, only difference is that the 2nd floor is still a bar and it has a 3rd floor. Not sure how many screens exactly but more than enough to show 2 games at once.

I've seen some odd bars advertising they are open in Wgtn tonight for the game
- Ponderosa which is funny cause it only takes 20 people to full it up
- Coyotes which I kind of think of as a dark & dingy place so not sure where they are putting a screen
- got an email frm Wgtn Events that said Establishment and Bettys are open - Bettys wd be a bit too mkuch since has 360 degree surround screens

I'm guessing JJ Murphys, Estatdio, Electric Ave & Kings are all open

Kings is the obvious choice but almost all the others have drink specials and the other night on my very first trip to Kings my mates and I thought it was kind of expensive

These are the only real choices from what I have heard

- Paddingtons (Off the Strand in Parnell) - haven't been there
- Fox's in the Viaduct - always full, last game full of drunken youngins with some unsavoury chanting

Enjoy

it's on Blair St at the back of Hummingbird - used to be Paradiso Bar. Has been open around a year and has NZ's only 4 wall surround 360 degree projection system. is quite upmarket

wow I drove into town at 1am and Kings had a queue of hundreds outside it. town was packed and took me ages to find a park. ended up at coyotes which was actually quite good

WCC should look at what good business happy footy fans are and really work hard to get that kiwi vs international game everyone wants
