So next Thursday Wellington is stopping for the 'Long Lunch' and we're ALL (no excuses) off to catch the opening U-17 wimmins match.

As part of the promotion the Fever are looking to split along England vs Brazil lines.  Look for more details here as we keep you posted with which pub is hosting which half of the Fever from 11:00 and how to get tickets in the relevant rival zones.

Q. How many times have England and Brazil met in World Cup (sorry, talking senior men's here) and has England ever won?

Q. How many times have England and Brazil met in World Cup (sorry, talking senior men's here) and has England ever won?

Four times...

1958 - 0-0 draw
1962 - Brazil 3-1
1970 - Brazil 1-0
2002 - Brazil 2-1

They've met 22 times in all - Brazil 10 wins, England 3, with 9 draws.  Last England win was in 1990 at Wembley - 1-0 - with Gary Lineker getting the goal.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread.

Based on what I saw today of England & Brasil I think NZ  would have had a good chance of beating eithier of these teams

On the FIFA website, where they have the official match reports.

It is possible that the numbers are not closely scrutineered.

It's a pretty good site.

Stadium announcement towards end of Nigeria=SK game said 11,500 over the day.

but it noticeably thinned out after the Brazil/England match...

Korean contingent of about one hundred with drums and gongs. Good noise.
Handful of us with Nigerian flags in hand did our best.

WHAT A GREAT DAY OUT!!

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

That was the quoted attendance I think. They were nearly all schoolkids who went home after the England game.

10,795 from FIFA.

The later game was 705 - total attendance at the venue was 11,500.
