yep, I heard the comment too on the UK ITV coverage ....Derek Southgate saying something like "Ricki Herbert has been desperate to work in the English league for several years and the result against Italy will look good on his CV"
So, maybe it's not only the players who will get a boost to their careers?

on a serious note the future of ricky herbert will be an interesting test of the achilles heel of nz football....the constant sniping and petty politics of people with egos bigger than their dicks who have achieved bugger all and think that means they should be people in charge...one hopes van hattum has used his supposed business nous to make sure ricky stays if he wants to..its not like the money wont be available...not sure about gladding but remember he is only the ceo and as such ius dictated to by the board as necessary....the sponsorship opportunities available now will be immense if approached properly...this has been a mind boggling success for both herbert and brian turner...i hope we dont start reading how nzfootball has bought 2 new slashers to start the process of cutting brian and ricky off just as they are getting started...
