A- (goes to say yes then pauses) there's been a lot of speculation and I don't want to talk about individual candidates but we are still looking at the same candidate list as earlier in the year.
Paraphrasing but indicates they are still looking at the 5 from earlier in the year which were Herdman, bazely, Buckingham, Uffie and???.
Don't see Herdman coming down, don't know why Buckingham would give up the City Football Group pathway, uffies moved on and not sure who number 5 was. Sadly looks like it's bazley
Nonsense. Nothing Pragnell said means Herdman is still a possible option. "Existing pool of candidates" doesn't necessarily mean the pool of 5 that was under consideration back in December/January. He was clearly just meaning to not confirm/deny anything but just spoke imprecisely when beginning an answer to the question of herdman being ruled out with "no".
Well I'll still personally be extremely surprised to see Herdman appointed. I'd strongly advise people to not get their hopes up. At least it sounds like they're looking to make the permanent appointment next month though, will be good to get that done so we can look ahead properly. Though I'd have liked to see Bazeley's u20s and the All Whites vs Sweden game before he got the job full time if it is to be him.

Despite all our young talent, of the AWs playing in a decent league (Top 15 league in Europe) I think Greive is our best this season at 3 goals for St Mirren. Isak has 10 in 11 starts for Newcastle!!
All I know is that there's definitely some clowns about.
In all my years that I had to deal with the clowns at NZF, I came to the concussion that to be employed by NZF, one must have on a CV, ”I have vast experience at being incompetent in all I touch”. With such ”experience ” the clown would be hired on the spot, looks like nothing has changed.
If we have since changed our stance on that, who knows. With Mens and Women's WC's getting equal prize money after this event, maybe NZ is thinking long term we can probably afford this now?

I'm guessing it's to do with the letter that all Canadian players sent to all the federations to get rid of all leadership and anyone that supports the old leadership, at Canada Soccer. Herdman will be considered part of that leadership, although maybe one the players want to keep.
so NZF is waiting for another federation to sack it's coach before annoucing we've not hired him and gone with some random no name? Herdman has clearly hitched his wagon to Canada, at that point we should have selected someone else. There is no way Pragnell and co would have known this Canadian sharkstorm was going to occur.

NZF clownery at it's best, first Pragnell says publically we'll have a prefferred option and it's looking good to have him signed before the international window ie before xmas - didnt happen. Then he said that we'll have an interim for the most recent games but we'll most deifnately have an announcement soon after the games - that was a month ago! It's six weeks before we play Sweden, I assume there will be an announcement before then, but in all reality there wont be and we'll have Bazely as interim again.

I totally agree, it is very frustrating to watch. They would not even know what to do if Pep offered to do the role. They would probably wonder who he was.

Think the dude must be known- he’s clearly got some good Dutch connections! And while there’s more Dutch folk in football than outside it in NZ, it’s still a small community I’d say.
Patience lads, if the answer is better than what we’ve expected after what’s happened so far, I’m happy to wait a bit longer. I know NZF isn’t strong in inspiring faith, but football in general requires a lot of faith in some folk…
