That elbow to the head coulda been one too, but they didn't check.

The goal overturned against us, utter bullshark as they fouled our player and then blatantly dived.

The Ref has been intimidated by the Costa Ricans and I feel he is out of his depth as an International Ref.

not even sure it's the ref on the field that's cost us this game, its the 3 Qatari officials manning VAR that have royally screwed us over. We are essentially playing against 14!!!

That Lewis shot was a screamer.

I'll concede that Kosta's frustrated tackle was careless and dangerous and met the red card level, but he wouldnt have made it had we been 1-1. Tempers wouldnt be so high and frustration would be sitting with CR. There is time for us to grab an equaliser bit we have to make more of our chances.

I’d be fuming if that was given against us though.

Think we’ve been weak and naive. Possibly Greive shouldn’t have started. 
We’ve been muscled out. Able to keep the ball better with Kosta off!

I dont thin weak/naive is the issue. Our midfield hasnt held onto possession well, we've lost the ball in bad positions, and havent been able to build attacks. I put that on Bell more than Lewis as Bell is supposed to be the creative rock in the team. The chances in the box have been ok, but as always we lack a killer shot in front of goal. 
It should be 1-1 which makes this game so different. But it's not and we are going to lose this to the Qatari officials. CR have done nothing to win deserve the win but score the first goal, the officials have done the rest.

Wood almost dragging us back into this.

If we didnt concede that piss poor goal at the start this game was extremely winnable. I think we should be expecting more from our coach, hopefully we get someone new.

That ref needs to be hung. 

What a disgrace of a performance. VARcical. Absolute travesty of a performance all round. 

I hope the boys, Danny etc don't take a diplomatic stance in this instance once the games done. Call it for what it is. Get angry! Get up them!

i'm not angry now, just sad that this game has played out like it has. It had so much potential to be amazing. Even if we lost. 

But now we have to watch the Aussies in a world cup and we wait another 4 years!

Greive got muscled out. Couldn’t play his game. 
I think Bell has been good, but we’ve lacked something else up front.
I mean naive like Paine letting that run out, when we didn’t realize we had to take the throw in, and how Wood had had 3.5 shots on target, Lewis one and that’s it.

Well we were robbed I'd say. We dominated but were playing against 15.

Heartbreaking. This Costa Rica team was absolute sharke and 100% beatable. Some ridiculous decisions and bit of naïvety has cost us. 

Bell was losing possession all game ffs. How can anyone say he was good tonight??

It's just do defeating.  A loss is a loss but we got fudgeed here.

Our red was a red but they elbowed our player in the head s few seconds later.  Nothing.  Studs up tackle late in the game from Costa Rica.  Nothing.

Costa Rica blatant time wasting, fouling and diving all game.  Ref only starts yellowing too late in the game.

Our goal was a fudgeing goal.  Chalked off foul a foul that was instigated by Costa Rica and then their player blatantly dives. 

 Bull shark of the highest order.

We scored as many legit goals in this game as they did but lost because of bad officiating.

We lost, but extremely proud of the boys, to the officials', hope you enjoy your back handers and  go and get Frucked!!!

We needed another goal scorer or two playing. 
Wood tried. 
I mean Garbett did drag the guy down, it’s not a total have and we didn’t really create much else. We gave them a test, but they didn’t get into top gear. We didn’t score from the corners. We didn’t play through them though we threatened to at times.
We were always going to be up against it, like that penalty shootout call in the age group. Gotta see that coming. 
Home fans would’ve helped too.
But Costa Rica were just a much better match hardened team, who had the luxury of an early goal. Lot of respect for Navas at the end there.

I wasnt expecting us to win the world cup, but we deserved to get thrashed in the WC as much as Costa Rica does.

Despite the farcical officiating, we 100% deserved to lose. I am gutted for the boys but they didn't do enough. Not a single convincing goal scored against non Oceania team recently, of course we were going to struggle against 12. Bell was jaded all game. Lewis came alive in the last 15, Tuiloma offered nothing. There are definitely big gaps in quality within the team. I.e Payne and Kirwan. Wood has 0 support. Our plan the last few years has been hoof it to wood. What does one expect when he tires?

Tough pill to swallow, especially given we were by far the better side on the night. Let the occasion get to us and conceded early, a dumb challenge by Kosta and the inevitable "interesting" refereeing, just a little too much to do on the night.

Boys can hold their heads high.

I guess Bayern’s medical staff are as good as any, but by all the footballing gods Sarpreet deserves to play at a top level club and in the World Cup. Imagine how we’d have gone with him tonight. We wouldn’t have died wondering.
