good win with some decent takeaways for Hay. Having Wood leading the line makes a massive difference, Waine/Just miles ahead of De Jong Stamenic streaks ahead of Howieson De Vries did well at LB, will be a good sub for Libby Kirwan owned the right side of the field, RWB is his spot to lose, Payne could cover CB or RB if required. Kosta did ok but seemed to get lost when coming in field, I think Hay is looking for a central attacking midfielder to cover Singh's absence.
He didn't have much to do, but Sail certainly did himself no harm over those 2 matches (I believe he's returning to the Nix now). Unless Marinovic looks in good touch he's got to be close to first choice and Woud down to at least 3rd.
Honestly thought Fiji were pretty poor defensively and couldn't handle us at all. While PNG got lucky with facing a weaker NZ team and De Jong missing chances, still think they had it together more than Fiji did today.
Funnily enough when Fiji did have attacking spells/moments they looked fairly capable... but our domination in the middle of the park prevented that from happening for nearly the entire match.
I was fairly unimpressed with our attack and finishing through the first half. Wood Barbarouses and Waine didn’t link much. I thought Waine and Barbs stayed too wide. We didn’t attack through the middle or on the deck at all, apart from a good solo foray by Stamenic. And we made a meal of plenty of chances. So yeh- it was kind of them to give Wood an unmarked header to help him get going.

Kosta did well as a winger so will suit with 3 up front - think he isn’t suited as much to playing in a top 2.
I was very impressed with the range of passing today and, more importantly, the ball speed. Lewis had the ball on a string with some exceptional passing whilst the delivery from wide areas was very very good. Lewis played his best game in a black shirt.
I feel like the 3-4-3 will be Danny’s go to without Sapreet. I think we are too narrow with the 4 diamond 2 and Wood gets dragged wide. It’s just hard finding a shape that suits Sarpreet given our other relative strengths. With the shape today he stays central and our wingbacks push - he just focusses on getting into scoring positions around the box.

Singh's main position for Regensburg is on the left. If Thomas gets fit, I think a midfield of him, Bell and Stamenic, with Singh coming in from out wide and Kosta/Rojas/Just/McCowatt/Champness on the other side is the most sensible way of getting our best players on the park.

in that list Rojas is the least likely to be picked. Personally I think Singh is better in the center of the park controlling play alongside Bell. If we stick with the 5-2-3 shape then Kost, Wood and Champness are you're starting front men, with singh and Bell in the middle, Stamenic comes on for either Singh or Bell depending on what is needed.
Agree, Singh is more impactful centrally. I thought Elijah Just sparked the roll-on of goals last match and proved he deserved to start ahead of Kosta (who missed a straightforward opportunity). theprof

Yes Just goes close to first team starting lineup no matter the formation, and Champness drops out. Latter is still very much a rough diamond at the moment, and I think better as an impact player.
Greive on the other hand could really shake things up. I think he will quickly become a real contender to start alongside Wood.
