England, so the lasses can inspire the over-paid blokes to revisit 1966 (might as well be 1066, cos there seems to be no way short of a time machine that it'll happen )

though to be fair (and use  a cliche) the game v Nigeria was pure Ingerland

Japan for me too. They've played well and scored heaps of goals. England will have to play like they did against Brazil to win unlike their performance in their last game. Lonegunmen2008-11-08 21:36:41
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Japan. They've been the best team in the tournament.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

A battle of the two Koreas in the final would be pretty epic.

Denmark drubbed by North Korea and I just bought a Danish flag assuming they'd win.

Let's go Germany now!

NTH Korea were awesome-a full team press on attack, a simple, almost naive directness, superb finishing and tenacious defence.

an impressive display to blow the Danes out if the comp.

more please.

Japan have been the most impressive, quite like the way Germany are playing too.

England's second goal was amazing but I still think Japan will take it. They've looked the better side throughout.

Going by their group games Japan definitely deserved to go through and not England.

It's knockout, the better team that wins the match goes through.

What a load of crock???
That 2nd goal was hit and hope and that was all!!!
A goal like that will never be scored at senior level.

In knockout stuff anyone can go through...particularly in pens!!!

Yes. So the team that's better on the day advances.

Group games only get you to the knockout stage. After that, as the Arse says, it's the best team on the day. The Japs looked to be the best team by miles in the group games but obviously couldn't do the business when it mattered, so they deserve to be going home.

Unfortunately!

Yeah that's fair, but I do think that Japan were unlucky to lose and if they played them again they'd probably win.  Just how it goes in football aye, if you blow your one chance you are gone.

England are battlers and generally stout defenders, you have to give them that.

They have probably been subordinate for the major part of all their games - Brazil, Nigeria, Korea and Japan, but have ended up winning three of these and reaching the semi-finals.

I think they are brilliant, love Jordan Nobbs in the midfield, and Isobel Christiansen was amazing today. And a brilliant goal from Lucy Staniforth too.

I wouldnt expect them to reach the final, but after that performance I wouldnt back against them.
