Reading through a zillion other threads trying to gauge numbers is too much like hard work.

If you are going to the game, respond to this thread.

If you have a game day ticket already, state where it is located so that others can get a ticket in the same "White Noise" type  zone.

Tickets go on sale to "Football Family" members (http://www.myfootball.com.au/) at 12 AEDT apparently.

From their site, you can register if:
(b) Hyundai A-League Club member

(c) Australian Football Supporters

  • Previous attendees of national team, Hyundai A-League and State/Territory League football matches.

Not sure what process is involved, though. Note in b) it says " Ticket purchasers of Hyundai A-League matches are not included." but that seems to contradict C. Hmm.

I'm most likely going, with a bunch of Hamiltonians from the Waikato Times. That is if my pommy mate can sort out his visa. Otherwise, I'll look into tagging along with someone on here!

Hey guys, I'm new, but I think I'm headed to Oz for this game.

Check me out:

Right now I'm thinking May 23rd to Australia for a NZ vs AUS soccer game, then May 25th from AUS to KL, Malaysia then on the 3rd of June from KL, Malaysia to JNB, South Africa. What do you think?

I've been in NZ for a year now so I'm down to support the AWs, but in SA I'll be attending all the USA games. I hope we get to play eachother!

I'll be flying in from Chch to Melbourne unless this plan all goes to sh*t.

Thoughts? Am I crazy to try all this on a shoestring budget? Want to share a hotel? Does anyone do couchsurfing.com (I do and I'll be trying to find accommidation through there)? Please let me know!

Embarrassing. I copy/pasted that from an e-mail to my dad. He wouldn't know what I was talking about if I said football.
My shame runs deep, but I promise that I'm not that American.

I'm not a member of any sort, but I guess I'll get my ticket to the AW zone when they go on sale next Monday?

Thinking I might go and watch the Melbourne Knights or South Melbourne on the Sunday, depending which is closer to the CBD.

If you haven't booked flights yet. Make sure they don't clash with the Man U vs Barca Champions League final which is on the Sunday morning

Sorted
Area: Ponsford Stand
Category: Nz Supporter Area
Section: M30-NZ
Row: CC
Seat/s: 20-19

BTW, Qantas have good direct flights <$600, out Sat arvo, back Tues arvo. Just keep checking each day as they release the cheap seats on a drio feed basis.
Pac Blue are doing $500 eturn via Syd / Ak respectively.

Got my flights booked no match tickets yet is it likely to sell out?

The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

The MCG is a pretty big ground, but the NZ supporters area is relatively small and there is bound to be non football regular Kiwis in Melbourne and surrounding area wanting to go, so to be safe I got in early.

As long as I don't have to sit and watch the game. It's not the same unless I'm standing.
